Offered the carbs up today Shirley looks pretty !
I tried my 3mm spacers to start off and whilst I found them doable the locknut was about 2theads shy of ideal , so I then tried a single gasket and the nuts bottomed out on the studs before holding carb firmly enough . I then tried using two gaskets to pad it out and this seemed to pull the carbs up tight just . Not ideal but it seems to me that 2.5 mm spacer would be ideal . All a bit of faffel and pita tbh

Unfortunately the pin striping didn’t go quite to plans .
Tank done and rear guard also, the front however I am having to repaint after being dropped on the floor
I felt bad at the time as you can imagine , apparently it’s the first one he’s dropped and he did feel bad , just a shame it was mine especially after travelling a long way to get there . Oh well you have to be philosophical and accidents happen . Anyway it’s re primed and hoping to silver it today and add stripe again tomorrow before perhaps another 70 m journey to complete .

 

Tank does look good , yeh we were both gutted but hey its now back in silver so hope to add stripe again tomorrrow eve . Just glad it wasnt the tank !

 

Yup very true , a distant memory already well almost as stripe is back on today so just needs the pin stripe next week sometime .
Quick question .. where does the oil breather pipe terminate after comming of the t piece . Also are the breather connectio s just push no clip using the thin wall poly pipe stuff . That breather up under the engine case is a pain to get to , sure hoping no clip require there .

Not masses of progress but getting there .. Still haven't got a finished front guard its still awaiting the re striping , cant get hold of the pin stripe guy so hoping he was on holiday last week and I can get hold of him tomorrow to arrange another visit. very frustrating really as want that front wheel finally on .
I also had the speedo and tach returned Friday after at least two mths not that was an issue more the fact one had a nasty run in the paint on the shell . Not ideal ,so rubbed them down earlier today and resprayed both again with a rattle can so should be good to fit tomorrow

 

Thanks Darkman , yer she is looking good I think too , very pleased tbh , shouldnt be too long . Think I will be waiting for a plate number anyway as still waiting on TOMCC for dating cert ,I was a bit late sending it tbh but then have to wait for the v1111 I think so wont be on the road just yet , well might just have a dabble round the village
Whilst my pipes in general fit quite well , one side is perfect the other though the tail pipe slips on about half inch too far over the joint which is a bit unsightly just hope it doesnt blow at the joint , Bit odd I thought , repro parts strike again I suppose .

 

Cheers its more the fact that the main rear silencer pushes a bit too far onto the down-pipe loosing half the crimp section if you know what I mean , it looks a little unsightly may have to live with it .
A slightly testing day today , I attempted to fit the new seat and found it sat up at a terrible angle and about 10mm of the rubber pads so I ended up cuting and shutting the hinges by that amount so when the seat is down the rubbers make contact with the frame , I will have to oval the hole vertically in the seat catch part . . Looking online at many pics I noticed many with wonky saddles when viewed from behind . More repro part woes , still I think I am back on track but what I thought would be a simple job took all afternoon . Hinges should be re powder coated tomorrow all being well .

Clocks now back up to snuff

 

I like the clocks , the old dials were a bit too scabby to be salvaged apparently so they were replaced with some new old stock ones which look very good .
It seems a shame that they have to have that sticker on which I will probably peel off. Is it just a poor design that if the adjuster gets pulled the thing just breaks !
A couple of hrs on the bike today , fitted the Pazon which was straight forward . Quick question about the wires from the horn push , do they also get pushed into the light shell for conection . Need to tackle this tomorrow
