Hey all, two questions on this one.

I was watching Delboy's garage and it got me wanting to do this with the rebuild I'm doing.

I want to do this because I'm currently taking off the fork ears to repaint them since the left one looks like it has been sandblasted thanks to the steering lock key scraping it over 30k km.

    my questions are these:

    1) for now I want to stick with the original fork ears. Does anyone know of a plug that fits nicely in the space where the ignition would have been?

    2) has anyone done this? Did the keys have enough clearance from the gas tank etc to not scratch THAT up? because that I cannot repaint myself haha.

    cheers!

    AC

I just did mine, I'm going to get a plug made to cover the hole when you remove a piece of conduit from a junction box, paint it black and install it. Very cheap way to plug a hole.

I blanked mine with a rubber grommet, just stuck it in with a bit of silicone, sorry can't remember what size it was, been there for a few years now and still looks fine.
