That is the problem with giving fanatics a ‘once in a generation’ go at democracy. When they lose they want another go ad infinitum in case they eventually get the result they want, and then they will claim it was decided democratically and therefore the question should never be asked again.

This morning, the DPD van driver, on the phone, straddling the solid white line, while I had already lined myself up for the corner, c**t!

My band were asked to support Bob⚡️fest 2019 in Cartmel last night. A charity event in memory of A local bloke with proceeds going to St Mary’s Hospice who cared for him and his family.

The event was well planned, with a huge amount of effort from the organisers and contributors.
The marquee on Cartmel race course was big enough to hold a bar, fast food, a band and the hundreds of supporters who attended the event.
My band had been asked to play the last slot in the marquee which finished at 9:30pm. After playing the set which had folk dancing to tracks like “Suspicious minds”, “Whole lotta Rosie” and “Johnny B Goode” we discovered, disappointingly, that there had been complaints about the noise from some local residents!

I apologise to the people who’s evening we disturbed. I apologise that something we were doing stopped them from asking what we were doing and why? I apologise that we didn’t get them to see how important supporting our local Hospice is... in the slight off-chance that someone on this forum was the resident raising the complaint, let me try to tell you now.

St Mary’s Hospice provides care and comfort for patients living with any life-shortening illness or long term condition and their family. They support people from the moment of diagnosis and their families for longer. My own family has been supported by this great institution several times over the years. Please consider that St. Mary’s touches and supports patients and families like Bob’s and mine throughout the extended local area.

We all die, it’s a fact of life, but being supported and cared for during the last months, weeks and days is one of the most humane and loving things we can do for the people and their families going through this final event.

I won’t apologise for playing my guitar into the evening to a large crowd who think that this charity is worthy of their support!!!

Now this one is a fault I suspect of our London mayor or TFL.
Most junctions in London boroughs seem to have the road level brought up to pavement level.

Two problems if it’s raining and you’re on your bike, turning left off a main road becomes treacherous as your turning up hill vey sharply, feels like the front is going to slide and does because the level change is in about 300 mm travel up as high as the pavement level is.

Second problem pedestrians with headphones in concentrated on their phones don’t realise they’ve walked into the road in front of you.
Add first issue to second and you’ll probably end up on the floor with an injured pedestrian

I have adaptive cruise control on my work truck, even at the closest setting it leaves about 30 metres gap an the amount of twats that pull into that gap is unbelievable:mad::mad::mad::mad:

Car drivers who see me approach from behind on roads with central solid white line and going at crawling speed, then move to the right to prevent me passing even though there is enough room to do so safely
Their thinking being I shouldn't be overtaking on solid whites.
Solid whites mean I mustn't cross over the line into the oncoming lane NOT that I can't overtake!
Happens every morning on my commute to work

Over evolved mayonnaise stains the lot of them.

Is that a single solid line? Don't think I've ever seen one in the real world ...

Solid white line for the side of the road I'm traveling, can be solid or broken for the other side (doesn't really matter for my example)

Be careful if you travel into Leicester from the south up the A6 London Road, it has a bus lane that is only restricted to buses from 7.30 to 9.30 am which means it is two lanes the rest of the time.
Most four wheeler drivers can't read the signs and keep out of the bus lane leaving it free for me until one of them wants to turn right then it becomes OK fot the following prats to veer into "my" bus lane without looking. Certainly gets the adrenaline going!

According to the highway code Double white lines where the line nearest you is solid. This means you MUST NOT cross or straddle it unless it is safe and you need to enter adjoining premises or a side road. You may cross the line if necessary, provided the road is clear, to pass a stationary vehicle, or overtake a pedal cycle, horse or road maintenance vehicle, if they are travelling at 10 mph (16 km/h) or less.

    Yep,

And I am overtaking near stationary traffic safely without crossing the solid central white line
But cars pull over to the right to prevent me passing because they don't understand or missinterpret the code and are selfish, self entitled, obnoxious shits that get pissed off at a motorcyclist getting to work quicker than them, while they sit in standing traffic in their air cooled latest high performance all dancing singing cages on wheels listening to whatever radio that only gives them traffic reports telling them how much longer they will be sat there.

So they feel they have to impose the same restrictions on me, sometimes I am able to go round them on their nearside there is so much room and I carry on.

A bit like the people who do 60 down the motorway until you go to overtake then they suddenly realise they can go 80 after all

You know what really grinds my gears?

It's not people that say ectcetera when they mean etcetera, tenderhooks instead of tenterhooks or even asterix instead of asterisk.

It's people who say the 'travelling community' when they mean thieving pikey bastards.

People who don't wash their hands after using the lavatory.

The number of times I have been using the facility of a supermarket alongside another who does his business and just walks out, then I see him a few moments later handing some food with the same hand he has just been holding is sweaty pubey dick with ...
