There's a bit interviewing a little old chap three quarter way through. He had almost tears in his eyes and was saying how he tried to get his comrades out of the water but couldn't. That's only a rough idea of what he said. God I was in a mess of tears and it felt like I wanted to be there to help him. And you know some of us have a little bit of grief / trouble we think the whole world is against us. If I ever get like that again I will stand ashamed of myself for being a wimp.
    Regards
    Joe.

My grandfather was at Dunkirk and the D day landings . He always said he was one of the lucky ones . many of his friends were killed. He also had a habit of saying the only heroes are dead ones . i never agreed with him on that .

All the hero's seem to have that sort of attitude. I suppose when they saw their comrades fall and when they could not change things they felt a little guilty it was a comrade not them self's. But I don't know. But as most forces ex forces know that the mentality is that we would gladly sacrifice our own live to save our comrades. But they were all hero's those who laid down their life for our freedom and those who came home to make sure we never forget we owe them everything we are and all we own is due to their sacrifice. God Bless every one of them. Our Hero's.
    Regards
    Joe.

Vandals smash war heroes' graves the guardian 7 / 06 / 19. And this is the respect from the louts here at home. Tried to load the picture but couldn't. Makes me want to find them and do some serious damage. If there is a true God then send the retribution

Would love to run into the creeps and don't care what race or creed they are. I would happily spend the rest of my life in prison.
