    Hello all,

Already posted the question in the Scrambler forums. But as they are almost the same and the fuel- tank is identical I give it a try here to (hop this is not a problem).

I just noticed that the fuel tank of my 2011 Scrambler has a lot of freeplay at the front. I can move sideways. I checked underneath and the two rubber stops on the frame are there. I don't see any other brackets that could hold it in place.

Is this normal? It would be great if someone could check on their bike.

Also I noticed that their are no heath shield stickers underneath the tank. (see pictures, the green one is mine). I found a parts website stating this is only needed in the USA. Is this correct?

    Thank you!

My 2013 Bonneville has very little ‘cushioned’ movement with no slack. Underneath mine is bare with no heat shielding

    Mr Cox.
Your rubbers might be a little worn. If it bothers you atall just get a couple of bits of foam or leather. Put some silicone both sides and gently slide them up each side of the tank. Leave a minute bit of movement so as the tank has a little free play. Stops the tank from splitting.
    Regards
    Joe.

I would agree. My 06 Scrambler tank will move, but not as much. Just shim, or replace your rubber mounts and that should stop the excess play.

Thanks all for the reply. I will order some new mounts and look if it is better.

Just to be sure, The tank is only secured by the 2 rubber mounts (the tank "grabs" the mounts) and the 2 bolts underneath the seat?
