Had a few shakedown rides on the Tiger 1200 XRt (2017 model). It's damn good, but gonna take some getting used to after a lifetime on sports bikes !
Apart from the fact that the brakes are not as sharp as I'd like, the only real niggle I have is that the clutch bites right at the end of the lever travel. I don't much like this - it makes the clutch more difficult to control. The span adjuster doesn't make any difference.
Is there any adjustment available ? I've bled all the old fluid through, can't find any air in there and then everything I know about hydraulic suggests that there isn't much else I can do.
I'm really hoping it's not going to be a case of a new clutch before I go to Austria in August, especially on a 17000 mile bike.
All ideas, thoughts and suggestions welcome.

It's hydraulic and that's how they work. I think the only option to change where and when it finally takes up is to change the lever/arm that goes into the gear box ??

Hmmm, I had a look under the cover, but there is no mechanical adjustment under there. I was hoping someone might be able to say whether there's an adjustment possible somewhere else.

Maybe an option to change the fluid and bleed it although bikes only 2 years old,do no harm but as said hydraulic so maybe that’s meant to be.

Hydraulic is always like that. I had a honda exactly the same. But you get used to it and then you just forget.

Hydraulic clutches are always a bit minimal in the bite point, the only thing you can change that will make a difference is the size/ratio of the master cylinder and slave, a larger slave or a smaller master will give more feel but they have to be carefully sized or you can end up with not enough travel to disengage the clutch.....the other option could be to actually introduce a little air just to see if it helps.

could you not try and find a lever with a bigger dog leg so it stays nearer the bars??.failing that buy a cheap one and try bending it yourself to suit

I found that a problem when I had a demo, the 800 was fine.
Caused you to have to drop the clutch, not smooth
Maybe change lever, as I think someone has mentioned .

Cheers gents, I've found some references to this issue with my model on some other sites. Popular opinion is to change the levers, so I'll try that. Thanks again
