Just a word of warning for anyone who is using a Garmin sat nav,If the route shows straight lines on your sat nav it won't work properly unless you do this.. (better writing this down and keeping it in your wallet)
Check "Settings" to verify that recalculating is off
Go to Apps..chose tracks..select track of choice
Click on "Wrench" on top left
    Check show on map
    Now check convert to trip
Choose beginning to end..click ok below on right

Go to Apps and then travel planner..select converted track then click go

Hopefully you won't need to do this but it's better to be prepared,i was testing a route recently and I got straight lines:confused: once I did the above it was fine but it's a bit of a pain

It is what it is, I’m not going through all that again. You have no idea what domestic carnage the first download created

Waspy is booked in for his 6000km service on Saturday and I’m just updating my Garmin. Hopefully I should be ready by next Saturday.

Garage just rang. Apparently European models only need servicing every 12000kms. So that’s some money saved there (more money for Scotland)

I'll be going over "The bridge over the Atlantic" to the island of Seil tomorrow, (it's about 12 miles from Oban)I've never been there and I'm curious as to how long it takes from Tyndrum as we will be stopping off there for a coffee break on the Monday when we do the Scotland trip, the hotel doesn't normally open until 12 but we will be there a lot earlier, she has said they will open earlier for us if I give her a rough idea of the time we will be there

@Sprinter what do you think of this route? i can meet you at Braemar (number 2) at a time that suits you? ,then we could do the Queens view rd that you missed last year, then up Loch Tay then on to Tyndrum. It's about 180 miles for you

Sounds good, I have to check what time I can start off.
Early finish on Saturday this year.
If I put the dog in the Kennels on the Saturday evening ,I can head off any time.
Be good to see the Queens view.
As soon as I know my set off time, Ill let you know.
    Cheers.

Which way would you normally go to Pitlochry? via Braemar or via Aviemore & down the A9..Tyndrum is only 70 miles away for me, so I don't mind where I meet you
