I'm making up a wee travel tool roll to take with me on the bike (2015 T100), what tools do you recommend should be in it? Any oddballs I'll need but haven't noticed yet? Cheers, Adam.
Just replaced rear grab rail with a carrier and there was a lot of those star shaped screw heads - not sure what they're called but luckily I had a something to fit in that fancy socket kit that decorates the shelf in my garage! Also allen keys and small to medium metric sockets. I'm planning to look for one of those allen key sets that fold up like a pocket knife, plus the same for the star shaped ones if possible, and a set of metric sockets in the 10 to 14mm range. Have to confess it's a looong time since I worked on any machinery though so I'm sure someone more knowledgable can respond - dirt on my fingers has decreased in line with the increase in affluence over the years!
Thing is, more like, what's to go wrong? Other than a loose pair of mirrors swivelling into my face nothing has dropped off or conked out as yet on mine (2013 build year) and they seem to be well built. So I would carry just a puncture repair (for tubeless) in my case, bulbs, screwdriver inc bits and possibly medium adjustable wrench. Eric
Throw in some cable ties - always handy, but agree with Tigcraft - only ever had to tighten a loose mirror so far.
Cable ties as Steve says and all Tig says, had to cable tie rear mudguards back on a Wing trike recently to get back from Whitby. I usually carry multimeter as well, comes in handy on our classic runs for others mainly. Also solderness nipples good, brake light bulb if nothin else. A 10mm spanner useful. I carry tyre pressure gauge when touring, test every morning.
Good call - brake light bulb and possibly indicator bulb too - and a spare 5 amp fuse, as that's the bugger to go and it means no rear light. Brake light will still work and so will the headlight but instrument lights will be off so you know its gone.
