Tell ya what  the night before a rally is Feckin chaos
NUDGER and the garage floor are covered in gear waiting to go in the trailer
Beer in the fridge :yum along with healthy sausage rolls/pasties/JACK DANIELS/scotch eggs :grinning: all this goes into a cooler bag with some of those ice block thingy’s and because of the weight needs to go in the front :) then everything else rammed in behind :)
Got crisps and peanuts and mars bars and coke and SOUTHERN COMFORT :yum and 80 JPS blue :skull: because I can’t be arsed with vaping when I’m drinking :p

Right I’m off for a shit/shave/shower and might have a wee drink to help me relax :p

Not today, but yesterday. Bought a really nice Sprint Exec off some geezer on this forum. Found a very cost effective way of getting from Devon to Northampton to collect the bike - with more than a little assistance from said seller - so arranged the operation according to last week's forecast and the work requirement to travel.

All went well until about 20 minutes away from the seller's (after I'd retraced my tracks following my usual memory problems with detailed direction instructions!) when the foreboding heavens unleashed biblical proportions of rain on me, and continued to do so all the way to just south of Bristol. If I'd fallen off the bike I'd have drowned - and that's NOT just because I'm a short@rsed little git. At times there was running water a couple of inches deep on the nearside of the road where it wasn't draining quickly enough. It really was something close to riding through to Milford Sound or across the Cascades. Naturally, I'd presumed that the predicted "showers" wouldn't need much more than showerproof riding jeans and a textile jacket. WRONG! I was absolutely soaked through to the marrow and spent 15 minutes shivering once the bike had been put away and before I could even get into a hot bath!! My boots, trousers and gloves are still trying to dry out, and probably will be for another day or two.

Still, all part of the rich tapestry, as they say! And a good way to get to know a bit more about the Exec will be denuding it to get it clean!

On a slightly more serious note .... many thanks, DD, for all the help and assistance - very much appreciated. I AM the pleased, and proud new owner of that lovely Sprint Executive. Just wish I'd have arranged collection today .........

    Have a great weekend.

    I Agree Dilli !

I have been busy this last few week's, as Tuesday next week I will be Off for a round trip of approximately 6,000 klm's , going to travel East from Northam to Kalgoorlie then North to Darwin. So the last few weeks I have done or had done :- new rear tyre, new wheel bearings (115,000 klms old) new rear brake pads, valve's checked and new rocker cover gasket (original) sorted some new power outlets 12v, and today I received my Nissin Honda Deauville three pot caliper , so half way through front brake upgrade, tomorrow will buy new brake pad's , had to drill centre pot to link all 3 pot's. So brake reassembly and bleeding tomorrow, then test ride. Sunday and Monday will be practice pack and ride's to be ready for trip. Taking four to six weeks away traveling with bike and camper trailer. Hopefully I've got everything sorted. ;):(:):):)

HA HA HA! Today I will be mostly shifting a large number of sheets of 8X4 ply lining for the interior walls of my workshop ..... always assuming I can clear enough space to store them inside till I'm ready to fit them!!

I knew you were lusting after a 765RS!
Feck it mate, you're only here once why not enjoy it!
My mate rides a SDR 1290, I rode it, absolutely bonkers!, I wanted one, but the 765RS is just sublime for the 'real world', when we went to Spain last year he couldn't keep up unless we hit a straight which in the Pyrenees was't often!
    Enjoy mate

But you’ll never forget that. I’ve had some similar experiences and you do tend to remember them.

Yes, you're absolutely right .... the worst of rides do seem to become the strongest of memories. Having been riding as long as I have it's inevitable that there are more than a few wholly memorable moments - from the sublime to the ridiculous!
