The tractor and digger are in use every week. The Defender runs but needs a quarter chassis-again. The RR needs a good kicking and a load of wheel speed sensors. And the bikes...we’ll see. But I’m concentrating on my Merc’s air suspension at the moment so short of time.
Blimey ... and I was moaning about having to rebuild my Bandit race bike with a Swiss Army knife and a Haynes manual!
Right got the Merc air suspension sorted and the car MOTed, so thought I’d celebrate by dragging the T Bird down from the big shed nearer the house for a wash.

Little bit of rust spotting on some of the chrome but nothing that won’t polish out. Have an oil filter so just need to wait for the new battery and change the fluids.....
L Thanks. A number of years ago I made up/welded some plates to lower the pillion pegs so the missus was more comfy. Can remove them to put it back to standard. That and binned the cheap and nasty headlight mounts.
Hi Godders and welcome to the forum love Tbirds and yours is especially attractive good luck with the hip and the maintenance. Sounds like you’ve been laid up for a bit
Right, I’ve changed the oil and filter, coolant, X2 brake fluids and clutch fluid. Renewed the head to carb inlet rubbers, and made sure the fan comes on when up to heat. Fuel in, insurance for an old f***** at £96, and MOT booked for tomorrow. Then to tax it and ride it. Looked into a local bike shop today and was horrified at the prices. Things have got dearer. But I did have a good look at a Rocket 111 of a customers which looked rather nice, and low too. Maybe another potential purchase as it looked very comfy for The Missus.
Right, got the T Bird and CB 500 roadworthy, and given the old Daytona a wash. Might not put her on the road this year as have enough bikes and cars on the go at the moment. Also I’d like to check the valve clearances, fuel lines, and change out the chain and sprockets.
That T595 looks really clean, years of dust seem to have done it no harm at all. Like the period Renntec rack.
Thanks! Probably because it hasn’t been used since 2011, rather than being lovingly cared for it does only have about 22,000 miles so not such a high mileage.
Well all respect for returning to the road so soon. I had both knees done a few years back and getting them to flex was the hardest part. Take it steady; not sure we bounce quite so well as we once did! I reckon you are out front with the man cave........farm?!
Yes, I had my ACL done in both knees a while back, but the replacement hip is the best thing so far as its gotten rid of referred pain in a knee as well as previous sciatica issues. Just a small holding with 12 acres or so, with loads of sheds.
