I seen it on a picture on google and thought the same, so ordered it whilst I was waiting for the bike to be delivered. Not sure how different it is to the stock. I was good for 60+ miles before I felt the need to get off for a rest and then ok for the rest of my ride. I'm off out again to run it to the petrol warning light to see how it does on a tank of fuel....
Such a beautiful machine! Just got mine back from the initial service, had the x-pipe installed, and what a difference. Sounds much better and is more responsive. I’ll be waiting for other exhaust options, but those V&H are pretty good looking. Does that windscreen make a noticeable difference?
It is fine. I can get on the balls of my feet comfortably and my left foot flat with my right on the brake pedal, all good.
Yep I love it, cleans up the front end no end..... It is also surprising how much wind it does actually deflect.
Well back home now, smile all across my face; what a day. The petrol warning light came on with 39 miles shown on the computer. So my original estimate looks about right in terms of mileage before refueling. Be interesting to see how much that changes as I get the bike run in.
Thanks be up and away early on saturday morning. Getting on the ship just after lunch, when will start my other cruising love...
Congrats Wessa. Glad you are enjoying your Speed Twin. It is an awesome bike. I've got 670 miles on mine now and had the first service done last week. The engine is getting better and better now that I've got a few miles on it and its pulling really well now that I can take it up to 6,000 revs. Not long now until I can give it the full beans. I have a couple of big commutes coming up the end of this week, so I should see a thousand miles on the clock by the weekend (Yikes, I've had it less than 2 weeks!). I don't have the heated grips fitted yet as Triumph are completely out of stock!!!! However luckily the weather looks like its improving - so won't be needing them just yet.
Yep I've had mine two days and it is addictive... I have the heated grips on mine when it was delivered, not tried them yet.. I've also discovered that the after market radiator cover that I had on my street twin actually fits the speed twin, so I will fit that tomorrow.
I walked into carl rosners on the 6th of April, they had one in stock, i bought on the spot, but left it there until 29th, when i returned from my holiday. Had it two days now.
Not yet, although tempted, I think I'll wait a bit and see if they bring out an R version.... I'll just slum it on the Speed or the Tiger for now
Awesome looking bike, love the seat and the screen. Definitely the best colour of the 3 options. Enjoy and ride safe
Yep, i couldnt quite believe my ears, when i got off the demo bike and the salesman said "do you like it, will you be buying one, red is the most popular colour?" My reply was, "yes i like it, but i want a silver grey one, when could i have it" Salesman replies, "Oh, i have one silver grey downstairs" Job done
