Hi all, New to the site, and here to say hello. Been into bikes for 40 odd years, but not so much for the last few as been too sore to ride until recently. I'm now post hip replacement at 8 weeks, without pain and thought it time to get one of our four old bikes out of the shed to see if she'd fire up. The wife's Honda CB 500 had sat unused for 7 years. Still had air in the tyres and I did drain the fuel from the tank and carbs prior to storage. Bit of an effort to swing the leg over but got her fired up on the charged 8 year old battery and rode around the garden for half an hour. Very nearly fell off getting a little enthusiastic on loose dirt but otherwise bloody excellent! Three more to go including my old 97 T595 and a 98 Thunderbird sport 900.
Godders. Welcome to the Family. You know we will want pictures of the said steeds. One little point I would remind you of. Those tyres if eight years of sitting check them well as I am sure their road holding may have suffered a bit. Nice to hear you are well enough to join us all again here in the mad house. Ride Safe & Enjoy Joe
Thanks for the welcomes. Going to have see about an insurance quote now..... Seem to remember I was £115 for my two road bikes and being able to ride the wife’s 500 too
Welcome to the madhouse you should fit right in. To keep the inmates happy we will need photos.. Tucker
Will see what I can do later. I’ll have to dig them out as they’ve sat in my workshop behind an awful lot of other stuff.
Godders. Great shots great machines. And its nice to see them as you get to grips with them. Regards Joe.
The Honda was relatively easy. TBird next I reckon. Maybe easier than the T595. Probably be back to ask lots of questions
Godders. Fire away. That's what its all about. No good having a band of Brothers and not using their knowledge. And some of these peeps are the tops. Regards Joe.
Good morning and welcome aboard. Welcome back to riding as well and do remember to be safe and enjoy!
