Had a run over to Wales, nice ride. Called at local dealer for update on new speed twin delivery date on the way home. Looks like it is delayed yet again........
Yep well pissed, told originally mid March, the fist week in April, which moved to 10th April and now 20th April. Who knows when it will be here....
Took the right side fairing off the Sprint to have a look at the rectifier/regulator. Well and truly fried as was the wiring from the stator. Already ordered a chinese rectifier, ordered a stator and gasket (bound to be wanked as the wiring was so fried).
Tested rode my new 'double bubble screen' and smoked/tinted front indicator lenses !... the screen gives a comfier and higher cruising speed.
Middle class ? Moi ? No, but I am a bit of a foodie, that's why my belly's a bit portly. Tip, if you don't already do it, pour some malt vinegar into a bowl, stir in a half teaspoon of sugar, slice a raw onion and put it in the vinegar for an hour. Then put the onion on your cheese butty, it's much better than anything out of a jar. Will keep several days.
Took my Street Triple into Brumers in Wellington for its MOT appointment in the morning. Bit cold and the roads were still wet in places. So much for my efforts last week getting the bike cleaned and ready. Passed without drama - not surprising really it's a 2010 bike with 5,200 miles on it - if the photo's upload, it's the red one of the pair shown. The white one is the wife's 2009. Returned home and wiped off some of the surface muck, put it back on the 1Jac., replaced the airbrake number plate for something more sveltet then pulled the Speed out, fired that up and took it in ofr its appointed 'ministry check' at Treen's in Crediton for its MOT. Again, a no drama pass, though this one is a bit higher mileage (27k). Took a slightly less boring route home before, once again, removing the rear air brake and getting out the cleaning cloths to remove the road dirt. No 1Jac for this one. Yet. Both are now safely tucked away ready for the sun to shine and the air to warm ....... Awwwwww ........ bless!
Cold gravel?!? You’re lucky! I dream of a handful of cold gravel. We have to lick t’road clean for nourishment.
Andy, mines bloody rock hard anorl. What did tha do to soften it, if tha dunt mind me asking? I've read Bad Billy's suspension guide, but am a bit of a luddite when it comes to suspension. I know it depends on your weight etc, but just want to soften it a bit.
Just took the Exploder for its MOT. £25 including a bacon bap and a coffee. And includes a fiver to the Air Ambulance. Splendid! https://www.facebook.com/Sywellgarageltd/?epa=SEARCH_BOX
Blimey, we’re all Elizabeth David wannabes today! Add finely grated Parmesan cheese with a dash of balsamic vinegar to the potion... Double yum! Oh, and eye of newt if you have any...
What model have you got ? Mines a 2015 R which has adjustable front and rear suspension. T'was just a case of setting it by the riders handbook to "comfort".
Took a ride out through Monmouth, Chepstow, Usk, Abergavenny, Brecon, Hay-on-Wye and home. With a good stop over at the Steel Horse Cafe of course
a little 100 mile pootle to Stonehenge, down to Salisbury Cathedral and back home a somewhat indirect way
