Not sure if this is the right section so apologies if I should have posted elsewhere ;)

Does anybody know where i can find info about using paint contrast/shading/colours to help disguise or change appearance of e.g. fuel tanks?

For instance, some of the tanks used on mid 2000s T100/T120s can look a bit porky, but I think that clever use of paint can help to slim the appearance of a tank. Trouble is I have no idea what the principles are - any suggestions??

Dark colours will make a tank look smaller as will using dark panels on a light tank colour, intricate designs will also hide the size of a tank.

Here is a perfect example of what i mean, but as said you will need someone who has a bit of experience with custom paint.

I saw that on another site recently - superbly executed but strangely unsettling!
I've also seen a Thruxton with a design I can only call 60s pyshcadelic which I think looks great - see if I can find it
