Not wishing to be pedantic (again), but isn’t Echo Amazon’s spyware, and used for their commercial advantage? Thankfully he’s using an old fashioned Motorola flip phone, and no one (not even Google - the Meisters of spying on citizens illegally - possibly) didn’t bother to put their implants in that...

 

I know some people are sceptical about the spyware bit but an office buddy tried it once. With his iPhone sitting on his desk he pretended to talk to someone about a cat he was going to get and lo and behold, next time he went on to a web page on his phone the banner ads were all for cat food! He doesn't have a cat and has never looked for anything using his phone browser that was cat related. He then talked about his uncle who had just died and, yep, ads for funeral directors. Check the microphone settings on your devices everyone!!!!!

Are you sure it was an iPhone. There’s lots of evidence of that behaviour on Android (even if you have disabled the default spy on me option in settings) but not heard of it on a vanilla iPhone - other than if you have ‘Listening’ apps installed and in that instance it is the app doing the listening and not the operating system.

 

So if your phone keeps putting up Russian ladies looking for love.......

 

I'm sure that I read/heard that Smart TVs have the ability to spy on you. Is that true or did I dream it?
