Got a ride in , and put Goop in the tyres. Im still tinkering with the suspension, it feels great, the Sag is not right yet although its close and Im thinking good enough for what I need. Edit; When using Goop dont use their applicator, its messy and almost impossible. use one of these. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Terumo-3...137251?hash=item2856740a63:g:9L4AAOSw5cJawe82 I did both wheels inside of 5 minutes.
Nooooooooooooo!!! I did that once (in 1979) and I'm only just starting to recover from the experience!!
Breakfast run to the Slimy Sausage.... No ....I am wrong. Breakfast run to the Super Sausage! If you’ve not been it is a great spot with good food and a nice vibe .
Breakfast run to the Slimy Sausage. Whoops, I mean the Super Sausage ! Great cafe, with good food and a nice vibe. Really well attended at the weekends.
I like your style Mr. Ashurst! The bike looks great. Did you dump the original mirrors and put bar ends on?
I must be the only person who really doesn’t like bar end mirrors, I can’t see the point of them, it makes the bike wider to filter through traffic, plus I really don’t like the look of them. But plenty love them.
I would never have bought them, they came with the bike, and I was going to replace them with the originals, but they grew on me Im keeping them now. I can see past my elbows, and they are solid with no blurring. When you stay in the middle-of-no-where, filtering doesnt come up much.
I'm in a really good mood atm, just had a rather "spirited" ride into work, and I'm buzzing. I've come my normal route, which is nothing special, but there was hardly any traffic, all the way into Sheffield. No filtering or owt. Set me up for the day, that ride has.
That is a truly great feeling, I had a ride over to Brackley from Oxford last week on my Street Triple. it was the middle of the day, but there was very little trafffic and everything just seemed to click, it was a mixture of B roads, dual carriageways even a little bit of the M40, I got home and wanted to jump back on and do it all over again! sometimes the best rides are when you have low or no expectations and not really expecting it.
Managed to get a cast aluminium bracket which will position my Satnav over the TFT Screen on my generation 3 Tiger 800 from a guy off the Tiger 800 forum who had some cast at a local foundry. They come rough cast and with no holes drilled. After a bit off fine filing and finishing off with wet & dry I set the bracket up on my pillar drill and drilled the 2 bolt holes and 1 hole for the ball ram. Going to paint the bracket black.
Took the Striple out for it's first run of the year. Remembered why I should have altered the suspension over winter, every bump creased my back and it was ccccold over the A62 so I turned back and went home. Had some hot homemade roast tomato and red pepper soup with some cumbled Boursin cheese thrown in and some warm pitta bread. Felt better so adjusted the suspension and took it round the block a few times aiming for all the bumps. It's tons more comfortable now. I don't know why it is but I always seem to buy bikes where the previous owner has set the suspension to bloody rock'ard !
Thanks for confirming that they work well tc When Mike had the first batch cast I thought I’d hang fire and see if there were any problems and there didn’t appear to be any problems so I splashed the cash so to speak.
All sounds very middle class, I enjoyed a cheese and pickle sandwich, bag of salt and vinegar crisps and a mug of tea!
