So, as mentioned before; I'm looking at getting myself a T120. I'm loving all the different mods I see online and would like to do some to mine when I get it. Not really sure how to go about it though. So, I wondered what you think of the Jack Lilley 'Jack Pack' (£1695 inc labour/£899 for the bits)?
I have attached photos of the Street Scrambler and Bonneville which have been Jack Packed.

    Kit includes
    Motone Tailtidy
    Motone Short Front Fender
    Bench Seat (options)
    LED Indicators
    Small Peep Mirrors, Black
    Bar End Caps
    Headlamp Grille
    And choice of colour

I've seen a couple in the showroom which I thought looked nice but wondered what my other options for customising my bike would be .Any pointers?

Also I'd like to know what your thoughts are on owning a Triumph but not having a garage - I read a post on here about corrosion on newer models which prompted this worry.

A good dry shed is a minimum as far as corrosion goes, do you have one.

Depending on space where you are maybe try something like the ridehide waterproof storage there are other makes all the same idea. Also my street twin lives outside and I just have a waterproof cover plus I cover the bike in acf50 a very good protection if bikes are used during the colder months or kept outside. Along with a regular cleaning so far no problems with corrosion.

A cover is what I was thinking. How long has your Street Twin been living outside?

It’s been outside nearly two years now. And no signs of corrosion.

    Hi,

I bought a Jack Lilley special Thruxton and am very pleased with it. I got if for a good price in my opinion but I did buy in December. I've seen the other specials and they are very nice. I do miss doing the modifications myself, but on the other hand it was great to have it ready made. I'll probably still end up changing something because I just can't help myself.

    Cheers

Hello TonyG, how easy is it to do mods yourself? I've never even owned a bike before so I'm right at the bottom of the learning curve.
And where do you keep the Thruxton?

I'm lucky and have a garage. When I didn't have a garage I just did as others suggest, had a cover though be wary of condensation, and cover it in ACF50 or similar. Unfortunately, in the UK climate, especially when the salt is about you are going to get some deterioration on any bike.

Some mods are quite easy and make a big difference, changing exhaust systems, rear shocks, handlebars, etc.. Mind you if you've not done anything then it might be a bit daunting. Forums like this can help a lot but your best bet might be to try and get a little help to begin with.

I might have a go at handle bars and tail tidy - taking wheels off and bits of the engine maybe not! Do you think bars and tail tidy is doable or am I thinking it's easier than it actually is?!
A cover might be on the cards then as I don't think I can wait til I move to a place with a garage!

I’m in a similar position, and a Ridehide + ACF50 treatment is my solution. It’s worked very well through the winter, I have to say.

You could easily do all of those mods yourself, apart from change the tank colour, giving your self another £796 for bits (Surrey Customs will custom paint your tank for around £500). I'm an idiot and did all of those and a heap more on my Street Twin. Factor in £150 for tools which you'll need anyway (Torque wrench a must-lesson learnt)

You can Ebay the surplus bits and then have more money to spend - joy
