    Same article mentions cutting road deaths to zero by 2050.

    Is this physically possible?
    Or is it going to be a play on words and for example a cyclist will have been injured on a cycle path and not the road.

    Well my car runs on hopes and dreams, and already only emits foxes and hedgehogs from the exhaust... Peace and love X

    Ah yes ..... another hair brained scheme brought to you courtesy of the mad, brain dead bastids that inhabit the EU. Plus, it gives them the technology to track/trace you wherever you are.: unamused:
    You couldn't make it up!!:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

    True enough.
    Just hate the idea of another Big Brother scheme. Especially from those twats!
    And then people wonder why the pro - Brexit voters won the referendum.
    I'll leave that for the Brexit thread. This is probably not the place and I'm not getting involved in all that. I'd have to double up (at least) on my blood pressure tablets!

    That one intrigue's me. There is a roundabout in Maidenhead as you go on the castle hill road and very often you get a panda sitting in there under the fir tree's. And I got my first speeding ticket the other day 36 in a 30 area. Next time I see him there i'll cut down the tree's on top of him.

    Kin'ell ! I know they train dogs for use in the military but training Panda's to operate speed guns while hiding in trees and presumably reading and writing as well, well that's just mind blowing. :)

    Boy you don't know half of it yet. Those Panda's sure clever devils. Just receive an invitation to a speed awareness course today and to relieve me of another £100. What will those cheeky little devils do with that. Bet next week I drive up there. They will have Bamboo trees all over the place. Well I shall just have to grin and bear it. Not the end of the world. And probably do me the world of good.
    Ride Safe & keep your eye open for those Panda's. With Notepads and speed guns.
    Joe.

    Actually it can be switched off its just Optional to have it on or off for safety reasons if an overtake is needed

    Probably all been said already:

    1/ I thought this was at the moment up for discussion
    2/ it will lead to increased congestion encouraging poor driving awareness and tailgating
    3/ There will be an increase in accidents as people drive with even less awareness than now , with what they and others around them are doing
    4/ temporary speed restrictions?
    5/ camera funding?

    Just b****x, and I speak as a (retired) blue light driver...……..

    Why can’t it be compulsory for all phones etc to divert calls while driving and not allow texts to be read or sent,on Sunday way back from prestwick beach with dog some twat in a Subaru turbo wrong side of white lines looking down at a phone,eyes totally off the road over the twisty Stewarton back roads,take these fucking twats cars off them and auction them off that’s a deterrent.

    A phone can already tell it is on the move and act differently but it cannot tell if you are the driver or a passenger. Imagine all of the grumpy teenagers unable to live their lives through their screen while being ferried anywhere? It will be like when I was a teenager, and nobody wants to go back to that dinosaur age...

    3 possibilities;
    1) Conform & comply
    2) Move here. Speed limit is 70, 75, 80 MPH out west where it's high plains or desert to the horizon or 40 straight miles between mtn ranges.
    3) Saved untill April Fools day today
