    Triumph TRW 500cc side valve twin built with military duties in mind.
    Could only find one for sale in recent classic mags which is a 1952 reg for £6450.
    Looking at the one in your photo I would try a cheeky sub £3000 offer to test the water. I wouldn't want to pay much more as there seems to be much work to be done on it. www.burtonbikebits.net would appear to have bits available for it. No doubt there are many others with bits. TOMCC may have useful info.

    When I retired in 2013 I wanted a project for the winter/s and decided that a 60s Triumph or BSA restore would be ideal.

    I got sick to death of looking at boxes of rusty junk and mangled bits and listening to blokes telling me "it's all there mate, a complete bike" which was then followed up with "it'll be worth 20 grand when its done that will"....... "I want 5 grand, worth every penny."

    Yeah, right, by the time all those beyond repair bits have been replaced and the rest restored it's going to cost more than it's worth. It would probably cost less to spend winter in the workshop keeping warm by burning fivers.

    Even showing showing them restored and rideable bikes on-line for £6k to £10k didn't shake them.

    After two years I gave up and bought my current 2009 T100.

    Oddly enough some of the older models are cheaper to buy for some reason.

    Generally better to find a complete bike for restoration if at all possible. At least you've then got all the bits, even if some have to be thrown away. And you will also have a pattern to use for a replacement/remake - always useful!

    Hi dilligaf,I have one that has been civilianised, its a TRW500 side valve M.O.D. issue. N.O.S. from burton bike bits, some part very expensive, LOT of work no return only enjoy if keeping

    Good fettled vintage bikes on triumph owners mag, picked up that blue 350 from Cardiff for my mate, in this months mag, unless you like fettling, but it costs, worth it on a top notch classic,
