Took the Yamaha xjr 1200 out for a ride. Forgot how revy it feels to the Tiger. Also how loud it is to the whistling triple. But it's fast once you hit the powerband. It's like a plane taking off whilst kicking you in the backside.
Once I learned how to keep the front wheel (mostly) on the ground I managed a best of 10.97 @ 126 mph into a headwind. I was hoping for a low 11, so to drop into the tens was a bonus. Had an 11.00 and an 11.05 too.
Those Phantom rear tires seem a bit squared off when new. I rarely ride any roads where I’m not leaning at least a bit. Planning on getting rid of these tires for something a bit nicer. The front is already down past the wear indicators.
So I deleted that cos of my no.plate. Went to Forres to the bike cafe, Bikes in the room and Top Gear on the TV. They need to sweep the carpark
Removed the AIS last night. Just been out for a run today, but didn't notice much difference, it still pops and bangs on decelaration...
Got some time off work so took advantage of the dry weather and got out for a ride on my Thruxton S. Popped into Woburn Triumph, then up the A5 to the Sausage Cafe where I had liver, bacon, mash and peas. It was lovely, most I have eaten in years but felt like I'd eaten a bowling ball, regretted the lower clip ons as any leaning forward seemed to directly push up some liver. Up to Silverstone and home via the A413. Up to 850 miles on the clock now so almost fully run in! Cheers
Got out on tracey today after too long. What a beautiful sound and ride, late lunch at the departure lounge
