Finally taken the plunge and joined a forum to better understand the amazing Triumph. I recently came back to riding after a 15 year break as the other half refused to allow me to ride after a cousin died riding in the Alps. Cut a long story short, I'm back in the saddle and went straight out and brought a Daytona 650. So far I have had to change the lower fairing, chain and sprockets, oil change, changed over the rear light for led with built in indicators, replaced the other indicators for Micros and plan to update the discs, pads and tyres before the summer and then boom, filtering through traffic in London and front wheel slipped on a piece of broken plastic off a car whilst braking and I decked. Damaged front, right side upper fairing and lower and guess what Triumph dont have stock. So it's likely a fix and repair. I also had to order a new indicator and right hand mirror but hey that's the least of my worries, plus top up coolant and oil and give her some love. So whilst not riding thought it be best to get involved and start talking. So after a long into "Hello"
Welcome Mark, sorry to hear about the damage to your bike BTW, the bike looks amazing, love the colour
Thanks for the reply and welcome. Shes not looking her best a present and that photo was taken a week before accident but I'll have her back up and spanking again. Tomorrow is strip fairing to do some odd jobs, top up coolant and oil; some rewiring for the lights and track down the thermostat sender for the dash. I washed her last week and the reading has jumped up 50c so always reads higher on dash then actually is ha ha. So a little Guy Martin tinkering as the legend would say hhahahah
It happens and as long as you get up without physical injury, a little hurt pride and frustration soon disappears. Thanks for the welcome and hopefully I have her look her best again in the near future
I’ll just echo what my fellow forumistas have said and welcome you along. Good intro mate, too many just jump in with questions before introducing themselves, you’re already a few points above them, nice one. (and nice bike too)
