Grettings all forum readers from Tony residing in the Loughborough area. Had my ST for about a year now and am really enjoying being back on a bike after a 40 year lay off. The street twin certainly is a "head turner". Can't seem to go anywhere without someone striking up a bike oriented conversation which is great. Is this a normal occurrence for all triumph owners ?

Loving mine as well, especially after a couple of mods and junking the Pirelli tyres.
I just wish that it was 20KG lighter though.

Welcome to the Family. Cracking piece of machinery there. Yes people do want to talk Triumph especially older people. I get it all the time when I am out cleaning my bike. And you know I love it they usually have some fantastic stories to tell.

Many thanks for the warm welcome from all who commented. Really glad I found the Triumph forum. Just to add, I'm fortunate in living not too far from Hinkley where the Triumph factory and visitors centre is located. It's well worth having a ride out to see the interesting exhibits housed in the "museum" and to have coffee and doughnuts in the themed cafe/ bistro. There's definitely enough in the visitors centre to keep any Triumph owner there for hours and that's without booking the available factory tour. There's also a well stocked shop if Triumph merchandise is your weakness. Oh yes, there's also the opportunity to have a good chat with any of the friendly, knowledgeable staff.

Many thanks for all of the good wishes and warm welcomes wich just keep coming. I look forward to keeping in touch with all fellow Triumph owners and sharing trials and trivilations of owning and riding these wonderful beasties. Just to add, if you haven't managed to visit the Triumph visitors centre just outside Hinckley yet, it's well worth the ride (well, any excuse for a ride is good anyway) as it's full of interesting Triumph history, merchandise and also a good cafe/ bistro. It really is a no expenses spared place which even provides free lockers so you can stash your kit and walk around unhindered. Anyway thank you again, take care out there.

That's interesting. I've noticed that my bike has the tendency to squirm around a bit when I cross the white lines in the centre of the road. Is this likely to be caused by the stock tryes? If so, what fo you recommend ? Be great to cure it. And yes, the ST can feel a bit heavy at standstill but at least the seats low so that aids stability. Enjoy your ST, take care.
