Do you talk about ‘backhanded compliments’ over there? Mr O is naturally modest, shy and retiring ...... and slim.

His efforts ARE appreciated.

 

First ride out with The Hampshire Biker Bastards. Met at Loomies (no surprise there) and then up to Basingstoke to meet up with another load then off to Thruxton, which they opened up just for us! No racing though - just a grid photo.

 

Was a great ride, @Wessa, twisties and amazing scenery. From forest to farms, seaside beach covered in people to middle of nowhere.
Amazing how you see roads different travelled in a car, whilst on your bike

 

Agreed, in the car you just don't get the real feel of the road.

 

She's looking amazing Ron, looks like you've done a top job on her, top drawer.

 

Shame on you Ashurst! You got those tars (tires; tyres) wet and muddy. Trust you cleaned them off immediately on return to the cave?

Finally sorted my oil leak. Had the break in service done at the dealer about 4K miles ago, and the feckers hadn’t tightened the oil filter! Had been dripping a bit and slowly getting worse. I turned the filter almost a complete turn by hand to tighten it up.

 

I agree. I won’t be going back, that’s for sure. Bad thing is my local BM* dealer employs two mechanics that have been Triumph certified. I trust them as their whole shop is handled in a much more professional manner. They have already quoted me a cracking deal on a set of tires. Sorry, “tyres”.

 

Not triumph related but it's a sad day in deed.
We say good bye to lexi-moto the 125 the missus learner bike, I loved that little bike, a great little learner machine.
I'm inconsolable at this time, I miss it already.

 

Dropped off the Tiger at Destination Triumph early this morning in the p*ssing rain.
Quite like the new Scrambler.

Yes mate - they tried to give me the Tiger Sport again but I'm bored with that!

Weather isn't the best today, raining fairly hard when I picked the bike up and very windy now it's stopped!

First impressions:
1. I would need to change that seat - getting uncomfortable after an hours riding, much firmer than my Bonneville seat.
2. Heated grips were very much appreciated!
3. Rear shocks were a bit too hard for my liking (true to Bonneville form) - they would need to be changed though.
4. It felt quite snatchy at low speeds, probably the worst I've experienced - riding through Alton town centre was a pain
in the arse, but it was much happier above 3500 rpm.
5. Didn't actually pick up or pull anywhere near as well as I thought it would for a 1200 and didn't feel as smooth or as
quick as the Thruxton R I tried a while back. It's only done 440 miles to be fair but it felt slightly sluggish if I'm honest.

Nice looking bike but I'd probably want to try the new Speed Twin.

Fitted a genuine Triumph seat cowl, removed the pillion pegs and replaced them with Evotech blanking plates, I’m really pleased with the results. With the Evotech tail tidy fitted, it makes the ST look much more sporty, plus it’s all reversible if I ever sell the bike.

 

Got my speedy back today after changing the Arrow exhaust system to a twin Akrapovic system. I am very happy, low down torque is much better and sound is awesome !

 

Finally got some decent weather to get a ride in. Took some pics of the last few things I’ve done with the bike. Motone tail tidy and big fin exhaust clamps. The pipes are British Customs. The pipes sound great, not too loud at all. I love how the combination of the tail tidy and the exhaust slim down the back of the bike. Looks good and makes cleaning/maintenance a breeze!

 

Rear tyre looks a bit square otherwise a very nice bike.
