It’s the dealer installed filter done at the 500 mile break in interval. Didn’t motice a leak until recently.
Just check everything is tightened up properly, we had some oil on the drive recently and that was caused by the main dealer not tightening the sump plug properly on my wife’s Mini.
A common thing that can happen is when they remove the old filter the rubber o ring, seal thingy can get left behind so you end up with 2 and the first one isn’t sat properly
Just finished fitting some goodies this morning that i treated myself to. Fitted an MRA X-cred screen as i find the standard one too short. Then i changed the standard headlight bulbs to LED along with the position bulbs. They look much brighter, only a night ride will prove. Then i have fitted a Denali Spot Light Mounting Bracket and bolted on 2 cheap Chinese spots. Not wired this up yet. Haven't decided whether to have them on as DRL lights or just on when needed. Also fitted a pair of Fram twin horns, much better than the toot toot of the original one. Lastly fitted an S Moto Rad/ oil cooler guard. Got this £20 cheaper as the paint was a bit Orange peeley. 5 minutes with a cutting polish sorted this out. In all took me 5 hours this morning including Tea and fag breaks. It was a pleasure not having to bend or file out holes to make fit. In the week i changed the brake pads as i didn't like the feel of the ones fitted. Fitted EBC pads front and back. Much better stopping power and feel. The old ones had Gold something stamped on the plates. The rear was pair were breaking up already. Bloody dangers. These were fitted just before i bought the bike from the dealer by the PO. Strange how the rear pads have so much friction pads whilst the front has so little on the new ones. Reading the EBC cards the front HH pads are made in the USA whilst the rear Organic ones are made in the UK. I like the feel of the Organic pads as i have them fitted to my XJR but find it funny that i can find ones for the front. Anyway time for a cuppa and another fag and a search for cheap some pannier frames that can take soft and hard panniers. Iain
After the H Cafe yesterday, I decided to visit a few more biker cafe's today. Whiteways (detour to Arundel), Billy on the Road, Rykas and Newlands Corner.
Took the bike for a proper 150 miles run and visited a buddy in Buckinghamshire. Other than a short trip to mot last month, today was a proper run and loved every second of it
Adjusted clutch cable and put plenty of brake cleaner through the calipers (hoping to avoid what i feel might be the inevitable strip down) on the sprint, bought some givi pannier racks on fleabay for it. Checked tyre pressures on ST3, well low. Bought this .... https://www.argos.co.uk/product/8141796 dont waste your money, going back tomorrow, runs 5 seconds and cuts out. Used the trusty old bicycle track pump.
Just finished the first round of mods, tail tidy, LED tail light, aluminium bullet indicators, polished aluminium front mudguard, Oberon foot pegs, Union Jack bar ends, short stainless slip on silencers. Next week is adjustable brake/clutch levers, HEL braided hoses, and adjustable gear shift.
North run of 400km today, was nice after 2 days of much needed rain, cooler temperatures and clean roads. Ran up the west coast and down the east coast avoiding all the highways. Some great twisties. Tried a nice IPA to blow out the dust at Cheek and Chong’s
Went to Box Hill for the first time in 15 years the other week. Much has changed and the Burgers are much more tastier now. As for Whiteways, this is my usual stopping point on Sundays as it's only 30 minutes away. But not today with the force 8 Gales blowing.
