I recently bought a 2015 Sprint GT SE, and I'm finding that above 60mph there's quite a lot of wind noise. Can anyone recommend an aftermarket screen that is a bit quieter?
I'm 6' tall and always wear ear plugs.

Apart from that, I'm loving the feel of the bike and hoping to coax my wife onto the back for a trip or two this summer.

    Thanks

Welcome to the Family. You do know we will want a picture of the Steed. On my sprints I fitted the double bubble screens. I did think it much better seemed to veer the wind around body.

Thanks for the tips. I'll have a think about those. I'll also try to get some photos this weekend, but I can tell you now that it's light blue and enormous.

My ST 1050 has the Zero Gravity screen fitted. It is a fair amount higher than the stock screen, the air flow is directed at my helmet rather than body, which makes it much more comfortable on longer journeys and still generates a lot more wind noise than my Deauville's huge screen.

What sort of helmet are you using? I use a Caberg flip-front as my every-day helmet and while it's got really good protection, it's not a quiet helmet, no matter how high the screen is. For longer trips I'm looking into a full-face that'll be much quieter.

    Thank you for all this.
I have a Schuberth S2 helmet and I've fitted a kind of skirt thing around the chin to reduce noise.

I think the SE comes with Triumph's 'touring' screen as standard. The profile gently curves up at a steepening angle, and I read a theory that because the top faces the wind at quite a steep angle it sheds turbulent air that is noisy.

Pre SE, I believe the standard screen had a more typical, smaller sportsbike type screen. The theory was that this sheds less turbulence.

This morning I found a second hand pre SE screen on ebay that I bouht to test this theory. It's from the Sprint GT so will hopefully fit OK. I will let you know how it goes.

    Thanks again.

I'd be interested in this, finding the bike windier than i expected as well.
    Post your findings :)

The taller you are the more gravity effects your digestive system.

I have a little more info to share on this topic:

Riding around at the weekend with the 'touring' screen, I found that if I raise myself on the footpegs, the wind noise reduces from deafening to much quieter. So a lower profile screen may be the answer.

The replacement standard screen from the earlier non SE model arrived today and I can confirm that it does have a much lower profile and fits perfectly.

I'll take it for a ride as soon as I get some dry weather and daylight.

I too bought a Sprint GT recently. Came with a taller screen. Swapped it for a lower standard one and the wind deflection seems better! Strange.

Well, I took the bike out for a ride this evening with the standard low screen fitted, and what a transformation! Fine on the motorway at speeds well above 60.

This is a massive relief as there was no way I could carry on with the kind of noise generated by the touring screen. Hopefully this experience is of some use to others.

Great. You must be having better weather than us in Essex as I would have needed floats to go out tonight!
