Hi, I just thought I’d introduce myself and apologise in advance for any “silly” questions I may ask. The reason I’m here is that I’m very seriously thinking of getting a T120 in the very near future. Hopefully a test ride this week. I’m looking to maybe change the type of bike I ride and am really impressed by the look of the T120, I have noted the comments about some of its fit and finish issues. I have owned a couple of Triumphs in the past but not for quite a few years. Also my local dealership is one I have no experience of, so if anyone has any experience of dealing with Triumph Newcastle it would be good to hear from the horse’s mouth so to speak. Thanks in advance Steve
Hi mate and welcome The people at Newcastle Triumph are very good I have had dealings with them for a number of years now and they are always very helpful Don’t think you’ll be disappointed with a T120 it’s a lovely bike Nearly got one myself but opted for a 2018 Speedmaster instead
Hi Steve and welcome to the forum, hopefully Dilli’s positive experience with Newcastle Triumph can give you the encouragement to go get the deal done!
Hiya Steve I've dealt with triumph Newcastle, it's a great dealership, the service you receive is cracking. Go in and speak to Kev the sales manager he will do you a good deal, but be sure to test ride a few before you buy and take advantage of the free tea and coffee. Haha Pete
Welcome to the mad house Steve, I've had dealings with Newcastle Triumph and always had good service from them.
Hi Steve, Welcome from a fello newbie. I haven't dealt with Newcastle Triumph but i have just bought a T120....and boy is it fun. I changed from an adventure bike and i just love the ride style and the grunt of the T120. Test ride it, you won't be disapointed. Dave
Thank you everyone for the welcomes and the advice. You do sound a really friendly bunch. If it dries up test ride this week or beginning of next. I’m really looking forward to trying the T120, I think it will suit me very well, although a bit of a change from what I ride now. As I say love the idea of it.
Hello Steve and welcome. I am relatively new to The Forum and in the NE too. I can confirm that the team at Triumph Newcastle seem professional, knowlegeable and straightforward to deal with. I have just traded my mint 12000 mile 865 T100 in green for a green 1200 Thruxton Cafe job at that Dealership and the transaction was painless. A couple of minor issues on the bike were dealt with immediately too. The 1200 Thrux is super - although the T120 does look a good bet for when I am older ( incidentally, I was 70 last week !). LOL. I can also confirm that Forum members are helpful should you post a query - as I have recently done. Ps while you are at the Dealership, have a look at my old T100. Whoever is lucky enough to get it, will then own an exquisite and well-cared for piece of British-made excellence. Ride safe, Bill.
Thanks Chaps, Yes, age is a mental process and nothing to do with physicality. It just proves that I must be mental to buy a Thrux at my age. When asked for approval, the Memsahib said “ go for it - you might not be here next year.” B.
Did she by chance up your insurance payout, ? have you signed anything ? failing that - then your a lucky(old)man Sir stay young
