Post my debarkle with a rounded hex I’m investing in a torque wrench and associated sockets using our trade discount at Halfords

Just wanted to confirm that the bolts etc are metric and not imperial

Depends what you are referring to. T140 Imperial Modern Metric.

My job is calibrating torque wrenches for aircraft industry. I recommend Norbar wrenches. A good buy is Tti50.

All metric !! And one other thing. Most torque settings are for non-lubricated threads. If you use a thread lubricant or anti-seize compound, the torque settings are different. The bolts could be over-tightened and possibly damage the threads.

 

Okie dokie, whats best practice, to lube, locktite or naked and torqued correctly

 

Naked & torque to spec. Then re-check critical fasteners every once in awhile. Oil drain bolt, brake caliper bolts, etc.
