Upgrades. Ive have my beautiful Bonnie now for nearly a year and am now thinking of changing a couple of bits and would like suggestions and thoughts. Firstly im getting some progressive 444 shockers and an arrow 2 in 1 can. Thanks in advance
Hi Almo, you don't really give any details of your bike - year/model/carb or fuel injected - so it's a bit difficult to comment. Give us more to work with and you'll get all the help you need. Cheers Dave
OK so you've got a fuel injected bike and it's currently std? These are very easy to modify and tune to great effect. When changing stuff, it's best to do the engine change stuff all at once as you will see: 1. Remove the Air Injection system. This is a physical removal of certain components as well as a change in the ECU. Benefits: reduces snatchiness on throttle, reduces/negates any popping on over-run particularly noticeable when you change to more open pipe(s) 2. Remove O² sensors. This is a physical and ECU change. Benefits - smoother throttle and general running. 3. Remove the airbox snorkle and baffle plate. This is a physical and ECU change. Benefits - lots more air into the engine so with fuelling adjustments you get a lot more power, immediacy, smoothness and revs. 4. Change exhaust pipes. Physical and ECU change. Benefits - better sounding bike, with more power, responsiveness and presence. So, imagine that you do (as I would recommend) all of these changes at the one time - you only need to change the ECU fuelling map once. This IS NOT complicated to do and more info is available when you're ready. Incidentally, there is a better alternative to the Arrows 2 into 1 at a fraction of the price - £210 versus £550 I think for the Arrows. Do a search for TECbikeparts and you'll see they have 2 versions - short and long - very nicely made kit. Cheers and god luck Dave

Stage 3 more like without box baffles removed etc, but would come down to the type of exhausts fitted here's a link to a well respected site
Yeah TTP was what I was looking at, gets a tad confusing which package to marry up with but once I have decided on which exhaust I guess I can talk to them about it!
Hi I'm gonna remove my AI system, will I have to change/mod the ECU as well. I don't know anything about them (old school old bloke), how would I do this and will it involve computors?
Hi HO, there are a number of ways of removing the AI system but if you want a method which DOES NOT involve electronics or computers, this is the method for you: 1. Remove the rubber air supply pipe that goes from the airbox to the AI solenoid; 2. Remove the 2 air injectors on top of each cylinder and blank off cylinder head holes; 3. Remove the rubber hoses connecting the solenoid to the air injectors. That's the job done.
