Hi my name is Richard. I would like a bit of feedback, I have had my Thunderbird Commander 1700 for a few months having bought it second hand. It has a damn annoying squeek that seems constant with the bike speed and stops when you just roll to a stop. As far as I can tell, it occurs around the drive belt area. Has anyone had a problem like this with their Thunderbird or any thoughts?

I think it’s something to do with lubing the belt, have a search on the forum, I beleive it’s been discussed before on here by people with more knowledge than me

They can develop a squeaky drive belt if the alignment is out. Belt may need minor adjustment to get it aligned.

The belt is probably too tight. I would just go thru the process of adjusting the belt slack per the owners manual specs and see what happens. At least that would rule it out if it is not the problem.

    Hi all

Thanks again for all the feedback to this thread, it's very much appreciated.

Tried a few different things, and the tried and tested candle wax did the job.

When speaking with the dealer, turns out it's a Thunderbird issue.

Went for a good long ride today and no squeak ... yesss!!

    Happy riding

Welcome aboard Richard. It's a common issue that occurs when the belt it is misaligned and/or too tight.
