I met him a few years ago. I was "doorman" at an event making sure people had the correct credentials to enter and he was the guest of honor. Took a few minutes to chat with me on the way in and again on the way out. Super nice guy.

 

Buddy Holly and Crickets on Ariels. Story goes when he first hit it big they went to a motorcycle shop to buy a bike, Harley I believe, and were turned away as being dumb young kids. Went to the Ariel dealership and bought three bikes.
