Hi Triumph Tribe. Just joined the clan. Parked up the 1200 GS. Avoided a GS Urban. Bought a 2017 Scrambler from road race legend Philip McCallen at his excellent Triumph Dealership in Lisburn. Took off the Tourances and kept them for the GS. Brill tyres : loved them over 20 years of GSing. Put on TKC 80s and changed the pipe work. Never liked the zig zag mid line exhaust. Fitted her with black Bobber down pipes and Remus black shorty cans. Plus Tec X Pipes. Then rode her from the showroom and straight into a field. Just ADORE it. Knew a new Scrambler coming out for 2019 but this is the one I wanted. Blatting around counting the cylinders firing. Tons of oomph for real life riding. Now confident in the dry twisties on the knobblies but see them moving towards slicksville already. Still have those Tourances ! Bit of tinkering still to do. Anyone moved the rear brake calipers up above the rear swing arm ? Aftermarket brackets work ? ABS STILL work. New brake hoses needed ? Once again, delighted to be on a Triumph. Sore face from grinning. Happy Christmas.
Welcome Dundrod. Enjoy the ride buddy. Nick Hall of this parish swapped out the stock tyres on his Scrambler for a pair of Tourance Next which he reckons has transformed the ride (for the better) on the road.
Hi Andy. Called her DUNDROD out of respect to Philip McAllen. Was there the year he won EVERY race at tbe UGP. Hero. Live on North Coast . Great twisty coastal roads for a Scrambler . Not long to NW either . DUNDROD
Hi and Welcome to the Forum, nice intro, just need some photos, hope you find some answers unfortunately they won't be from me!
Thanks Tiglet. Just been out on it. Remus exhaust music just awesome. Have become a sad old git. Ride it most days just to hear it. Can't get enough. Viva big twins !
