I bought an HJC RPHA Max from J&S Accessories for around £250, had it for 6 months now and am happy with it, It has easy flip down/up sun visor and is comfortable. It says it is light, 1400 g, but I never compared it to others.

Still waiting for a Shark helmet to be delivered to the dealer. I haven't come across the HJC.

Visited an Helmet dealer in Castle Donington this afternoon. Tried on many helmets but most were too small. Sadly they had no sharks or HJCs in my size. The search goes on.

Well the search continues. Plenty of helmets that I like but none in the right size or should I say the right shape.

I never knew that find a new helmet would be so difficult. There seems to be no real standards with regard to size. I've tried on helmets from L to XXL. What might be L in one style might be XL in another. At this rate I will be sticking to my Bell open face helmets.

East Midlands. There are plenty of dealers around the area but they all seem to stock the smaller sizes, which is understandable. However when I have ordered a larger helmet in and it doesn't fit it gets a bit frustrating.

schuberth mists up a lot more in the winter than shoei, it may be that I m a heavy breather

  13. Had similar problems a couple of years ago - liked my neighbours Shark which could be used open as well as closed but nothing in the Shark range was big enough. In the end it came down to the Neotec or the Schuberth C3 - neither cheap but it went the Schuberth way in the end - just felt slightly more comfortable. Bit late for you now but eventually bought on sale from the bike show at the NEC - big saving over dealers at the time.
After riding out with mates who have to carry around clear and tinted visors I would not even consider a lid without the flip up internal sun visor.

Finally found the right helmet today. A Caberg "Duke" in fluorescent yellow. Size XL. The long search was worth it.

Since getting the new helmet I have now worn it for over 10 hours. It's taken some getting used to, but I'm very happy with it.:upyeah:

For the last forty years I have worn "Open Face" helmets. Always Bell helmets. I usually used goggles or other eye protection with them. Field of view was excellent in all cases. I could get a wet face when it was raining, but that was exceptable.
Now with the "Flip Front" I have to get used to being enclosed. Less perceived field of view. Less extraneous noise. More heat in the helmet. Misting of the visor.
As I have said previously, I do like this helmet. It is very well made, comfortable and light. I have now worn it in excess of twenty hours.
