Damp at present but sun is trying to come out... F1 on BBC... Then get dressed and add some miles... Got to finish running in so I can get service done as away at start of May.....
Crap here, pissing down and gale force winds! Ah well, good excuse to fit my hydraulic rear brake light switch - the position of the spring housing on the Gilles rearsets means that there isn't enough movement to activate the mechanical switch. :frown:
Very windy today, just fitted new levers, which seem good quality for the price, also mounted my go pro camera.. Going to try a rear view..
145 mile round trip. rode down to Rye and then through Hastings. All very busy and loads of bikers out enjoying the fine weather we had in the South East. Rye Harbour... Todays route Only another 150 miles and bike is run it.. I gave it a few blasts through the gears and the engine is loosing up very nicely:upyeah:.
Managed a sneaky ride out between the showers on the Mrs's Street Triple. She let me take it out so long as a) It came back undamaged and b) was full of petrol. Was amazed at just how well it went compared to my Speedy; that induction roar when you rev it towards 13000 K is just intoxicating. I do think you can throw it into a corner easier than the Speed and 0 - 100 I doubt there would be much between them in times. Am definitely more cramped on the Street and that is the main reason I went for the bigger bike but if I was about 6" shorter and 5 stone lighter I think I would also own a Street Triple; it's a great bike :upyeah:
Richard I had the street and loved it. Agree with you there is little or no difference in speed or acceleration. The extra few Thou RPM does make a difference. The bike is so flickable almost telepathic, So easy to get on and ride fast... The speed R is close, the wheels and suspension do make the difference over the standard, i was quite surprised to be honest.....Not far off the Street...
Fitted seat cowl i saw on ebay, buy it now £45, bargain and replaced faulty front brake light switch. All ready for MOT now. :upyeah:
tried mine with the removable baffle out of my Remus. Sounded great but was bloody loud. Put it back in again when I got back. Still sounds nice but not offensive
Passed MOT :upyeah: schoolboy error, when i fitted tail tidy didn't remember to fit reflector for mot , but they stuck one on for a quid, good lads
New tank pad... Not exciting but nice... Flash has bleached the colour a bit as its a red stripe and the Union Jack is not so pronounced!
