Today was collection day for me and couldn't be happier! Also got it from Jack Lillley Romford (now Triumph East London) who were stellar with their service
I got the shift assist, heated grips and tank pad fitted and also the passenger pegs and fork reflectors removed. I've got a stash of goodies from Evotech that I'll swap from my Speed R 16, most importantly the tail tidy!
Very interesting to hear about the AR exhaust. I'm also keen on getting a low mounted end can as I liked the look of the lowboy in my previous speedy which opens up the rear end nicely. I may wait until next year to buy one.
Crossing fingers that the mapping solves your issue!
Here she is in all her (dark) glory.

Congratulations Simon - you just can't beat that picking a new bike up experience. That's a great 'in the dark' photo - it really sets her off. It look likes we've had parallel journeys (except for the colour) at Jack Lilley.

I take it that you're not far from me...if you fancy a black vs white chat at the High Beech tea hut (on a sunny and dry day!) just shout :)

Thank you MrT. The beauty of fresh new bike smell :) Agreed, can't beat that!
I feel Triumph have raised their game in their buying experience with simple things like a fancy document wallet and even including a complimentary triumph branded rucksack to take the paperwork home.
Yes, it sounds like we're not far off and yes, most certainly up for a meet up at the tea hut! I have a feeling white will win over black ;) I'll give you a shout on a weekend with good weather if you're around and free!

Mr T this is something I’m interested in getting done on mine, so I would be interested in going up with you as your not that far from me.

That's a great idea - but it won't be until the Spring (if at all) as I'm still thinking that sending the ECU in by post is a good option (until it gets lost o_O).

I'll have a nose around at the MCN show tomorrow too...there may be other opinions or solutions to hear.

I'll of course keep you posted!

I went to the MCN show at NEC Birmingham yesterday, and came back with a small gift to myself that finally solves the enormous problem of "how to make keyless ignition work at the petrol station (given the fuel cap has a key)", that all RS owners have to face.

A keyless fuel cap from Oberon is my solution :yum

The trick now, is to turn the ignition off, then straight back on again before filling up. This stops the pesky Triumph alarm from arming itself (which then means you have to fish out the remote fob to switch it off). Keys and fob stay in pocket. Job done.

I resisted various garish colour combos (almost went for red cap with black surround) but this looks subtle and almost OEM to me:

The cap is an 'FUE-0730' and it fits all Speed Triples since 2010.

That looks very nice, any discount on that from the show? I’m thinking about going tomorrow

A big fat ZERO - perhaps I saved the postage...or at least having to wait for it to arrive.

The Oberon is £80, not sure about postage.

I didn't know there was an Evotech version too - very nice...it looks brilliant on the black tank

Is it just a twist/screw cap or does it have a quick release mechanism - it doesn't come up when I filter the Speed Triple on their website?

Colour was a very hard decision hahaha it's a Screw cap mate, it doesn't come up on the website search your right, found it via EBay.

It's a very well machined piece of kit and looks really nice on but it was a bit tricky to fit.

I'm relieved that you went for the same colour combo - I reckon the original look is the way to go. Oberon had all sorts on their stand and I ended up juggling between the black outer / silver inner and silver outer / black inner for a significant amount of time while they stared at me like I'd lost my mind.

Hahaha I feel your pain, it took me weeks to make my mind up, to many colours to choose from.
The original look is the way to go your right, it looks great and no more hunting for keys in your pocket..... priceless! :joy::laughing::p

More likely to be leaning of the mixture that causes the loss. Back pressure does not affect torque although gas velocity can. Common misconception I think.

I'm just confused - and haven't made any decision yet.

It's definitely better with the baffle in though...to the point where I'm not looking to fix anything...I just want to know it's running 'safely'.

Butt dyno calibration or ECU struggling with the leaner mixture.

Back pressure does not increase torque. It's a myth.

There's an engine masters episode on this for those who have motor trend on demand. With back to back dyno results to prove it. Admittedly on a huge V8 but the principles are the same.
