What sort of budget (if any :wink have you got?

 

What have you now to make this one a 'second'?

 

Assuming that Doris is the Daytona in your image how about staying with Triumph and looking at a Bonnie/Thruxton/Scrambler?

You may also like to have either a backrest for the pillion or a top box which will provide the same function. Being a pillion without back support is hard work and if you pillion is one of your sprogs then a low seat will mean that their heads are lower and hence they will not have the same movement in the bends thus lowering the risk of motion sickness.

 

Picked up an almost immaculate 600 Bandit with only 4000 miles for my lad for only 2k. Engines are virtually indestructible..

 

T300 Daytona or Trophy, great bikes and also prices are just starting to increase. :upyeah:

 

Having owned a few SV650's in the past, i can definitely recommend one of them, Bandit 600's are also good, but not good as a trackday bike..

 

There's a ZZR 600 on EBAY now for just under £1000

Only 4000+ miles on the clock

Quick bike in it's day and should be ok for two up riding

 

the ZZR was one of my dream bikes as a kid....nearly as fast as my 955i over a standing quarter.

Gets good reviews from MCN too.

 

Something like that is not a bad idea if they are at the age where they have bottomed out price wise if it is tidy and you keep it that way then it's better than money in the bank :upyeah:

The only thing I would say about owning an older bike with low mileage is that they have been sitting for quite a while so it is best when you get it to do a full service on the bike when you first get it including brake and fork oil change and clean out the carbs along with a valve clearance.
check all rubber items as well as they tend to perish over time.
