Hi and welcome to the forum, the Speed Triple is a great machine. Insurance varies so much depending on age where the bike is stored and postcode location but I had a 2012 one insured fully comp for under £200 with full no claims 48 year old. Best ring or go online ideally with the reg of the bike and get a few quotes. No real reason the bike should be more expensive to insure.

It won't make any difference to insure although if they come to pay out then they'll go to town on screwing you down because of its history. Just make sure you pay less than the going rate as it will always carry a dark cloud over it. Eric

 

Yes less for the bike

 

The bike in question is not one I'm familiar with price wise. Although If £4000 is for a straight average bike then it should be nearer £2800-£3400 if on the 'v-car' register. You may think that's mean but you'll only get a kicking when you come to sell it. Buy wisely and use your head not your heart. If you really really want to buy it then expect to take a big drop when selling it. Best of luck, Eric
