Several 2014 and 2015 Triumph motorcycles are being recalled due to an issue with the engine control unit (ECU). The recall states that certain motorcycles may experience an ‘unintended activation’ of one of the fuel injectors because of a faulty ECU. This could result in the engine either not starting, or if already running normally, losing ignition in one cylinder due to excessive fuelling.
Models affected by the recall are the: America, Bonneville, Bonneville T100, Rocket III Roadster, Rocket III Touring, Scrambler, Speedmaster, Thruxton, Thunderbird, Thunderbird Storm, Tiger 800 and Tiger 800XC.
A total of 256 bikes have been affected by the recall - Triumph UK has written out to owners and will replace the faulty ECU free of charge at an authorised dealer.

My goodness me, that is quite a list of models. I'm glad my Trophy SE isn't on the list.

I'm guessing they use the same ECU unit on all the models ??

You are probably right. The dealers will be pretty busy.

Just gave Triumph a call and my Speedmaster isn't subject to the recall - they were very helpful though. I just called the main number 01455 251700 and they put me through to the warranty department who checked by registration number - simples. Jacko I hope it gets sorted OK.

Just got to ring dealer a week before I want the work done, so that they get the part in.

So it can wait till spring when I start riding again.
