The lack of urgency you mention, maybe due to resetting the ECU more than the end can ? Maybe it will come back with some hard use .

Exactly what I'm hoping - I managed about 8 miles on it at lunchtime and it needs a proper run...and I need to get used to the feel of it. I'll keep you posted :)

Also Austin Racing seem to have a tuning module available for the Speed Triple.

I see Austin racing advertise their exhausts fit Speed triples 15 - 18. Does this mean they wont fit my 2014 model? I cant get a simple straight forward answer from Austin racing or triumph UK. I'm not aware of any changes in the exhaust system after the cat on the 14-15 models, or am I wrong? Austin racing told me they will not refund me if it does not fit. Anyone know a definative answer on this?

    cheers,

I think you need to measure your link pipe where the AR system joins then they can confirm the fit. They do 45mm 50mm 54mm. You may need to tweak the bracket. I have been speaking with Kyle trying to get a comparative dyno result without much success. He did sent a graph with one run and 125bhp which he assures me is the SPEED not the STREET...

I've found AR to be exceptionally unhelpful (at times) on the phone too. It really shouldn't be like that.

I know nothing about the fit for the pre-2016 bikes, but it's not just the diameter of the pipe that you need to check, it's also the position that the link pipe joins the cat.

It would be useful to know how 2015 is different to 2016, maybe then we can establish whether 2014 is any different to that.

Not much help I know

The 16 model is different due to a bigger cat for euro 4 but if the 15 model is the same as the 14 then Austin racing need to update their website, as the exhausts would surely fit 2011 - 15 , 16-17 and 18.

    Your logic makes complete sense.

If you haven't already, try talking to Richard Austin - he really should have a vested interest to confirm compatibility...and it can only do them good if we repeat the information on this forum.

Ordered mine. Went for the 110mm option carbon with titanium.

Just to be clear. I selected standard headers. Is that correct for an 18 RS? They're arrow cans but the headers are the same as the S I thought?

Well if its a 2018RS the headers shoudl be standard for that model.

Will be great to see pics when fitted. Also, if you are ok with this, it would be great to get feedback on performance BEFORE you reset the ECU so its a direct comparison between old and new end can. 110mm is proper stubby ! I can't imagine its very quiet !

Awesome - can't wait to see some pics :yum

As Richard said, standard headers is correct - that option only applies to 2016/17 bikes with a full Arrow Lowboy system. It would be helpful if it filtered it out on the website after you choose 2018.

I suppose a few irritations are OK given the end product.

For those of you that have the stamina to keep reading my posts...I went out for a decent run and took some outdoor photos before I left.

Steering. She reacts faster to steering inputs and turns in tighter, but the reduced weight means you have to be more positive (if that makes sense). She handles fine and is just more sensitive, but I'll get a suspension tune as planned, because it can only be a good thing.

Throttle. I think the extra noise (there's a lot of very deep noise!) was causing me to be lighter on the throttle at pull-away. Give her more beans and she goes fine. There's no lack of performance anywhere else. I called Hilltop just to ask about the merits of a their remap, but they're away until the end of November!

Next test will be baffle in - just to see

Nice ! Would it pass a noise test at Oulton park do you reckon ? 102dB . Long break for Hilltop but may be worth the wait ... ? Great looking bike with that can !

Also I guess if you take weight off the back the rear of the bike will sit a little higher so effectively more weight bias to front so quicker steering and easier stoppies .. according to Performance Bikes the guy from K Tech reckonned the bike was too low at the rear so maybe it's the ideal solution ...buy an AR end can

I think it will with the baffle in - AR's dB figures are confusing (along with all of their naming conventions...GP1RGPV2RRV3 and all that) but it looks to be 98dB or 104/5 with it removed.

I've got a decent dB tester...but I need to wait until the neighbours are out o_O
