Sprint GT Drive Chain Adjustment

    well the bike I'm getting has 6,000 + owned by an elderly gentleman.......2011 sprint gt.......I'm trading in a harley had 'em for the last 2o years all belt driven......last chain I maintained was on a ten speed bicycle,lol

    and lubing? center stand and spraying it down with a grease of some sort?

    ScottOiler all the wya. Always had them, and never have to worry about chain lube. Its is worth the investment. On the GT, get the touring double sided delivery system. I use a vacuum version, as I had access to the throttle body, but I hear the electric ones are just as good.

    yeah, I'm lost! ''scottoiler'' is that a canned lube?! vacummed system ! On a chain?! yeah I'm confused, to say the least.

    Simple step by step.
    1. Wash chain with toothbrush and paraffin
    2. Have a tea
    3 .With a small paint brush , coat with gear oil. about 10mm for whole chain ,inside and out.
    4 Repeat monthly or every 500 miles.

    I understand using gear oil was fine many moons ago,but now with o/x ring chains there can be issues using mineral oil. Modern chain lubes are designed to not affect the rubber.

    ok, that makes sense......So synthetic is more rubber friendly I take it?
