I'm a reformed American V-Twin rider who started out with a parallel twin back in the 80s who decided that a 2016 Bonneville T100 with less than 2,000 miles was a step in the right direction. So I traded in the Hog with 61k miles and 850+ lbs for the Bonneville. So now, I'm riding around the South with a gleaming white and gold Triumph. It turns out that everytime I stop for fuel, there is someone there who wants to tell me about their BSA or Norton and are amazed that a bike that looks like a 1970s model is actually a "Modern Classic". It's exactly what I was looking for
TPuckett. Welcome to the Family. Great Machine you have there. I see you are all kitted up to tour. Enjoy the Bonnie and the Forum. Great people on here all brothers when one of us need a helping hand or just someone to listen. I found that out over the last year or so. I for one am glad I am a member. Ride Free Joe.

When I had my first Hinckley Triumph back in the 90's I made the mistake of parking it near a post office on pension day, had a few old bikers ask me if it was a 'real' Triumph & tell me all about their old bikes.
Good morning and welcome. I, too, used to ride a Harley and decided it was time for a change. My Scrambler is quite a change indeed, and I love it. Much better suited to my riding style!
Same here, TP, with my 2006 Black Bonny. Always wanted one when I was young and stupid in the 70s. Ok, I'm just older, but the craze for cruisers has always baffled me. Why not ride upright with a nimble street twin as nature intended? Welcome to Triumph!
I was never really interested in cruisers. My interest was in the Sportster, and long distance riding which lead me to the Electra glide. I considered going back to the Sportster but didn't want to deal with forward controls. There is nothing else comparable with the lighter weight, comfortable riding position and amazing looks and presence as the Bonneville. I'm very pleased with the bike.
Welcome my son, so good to have rider who has seen the light, now give me 10.000.00$ and 10 Hail Marys, I will not do it again and stray from Triumph's path of righteousness.
I've always wanted a Bonneville, finally have one and it's the best motorcycle I've ever had! My only complaint is that the footpegs poke my legs when I put my feet on the ground. Does anybody know if the forward controls from a Speedmaster would fit on a 2009 SE? Thanks
Howdy Michael, and welcome in how about starting your own newbie thread, you'll get far more response
