New owner, Bonneville, 2006, speedometer only - thanks, mates, for giving me an indication of what RPM happens at 60mph in top gear. And the red line? Safe riding.
Rpm at 60 mph would be about 3,000 ish and redline about 6,500 to 7,200 , they are very robust and don't mind running at or near top rpm's once run in of course . I know this as I have had 09" America on a dyno and had "bells" wrung out of it to get it "tuned" up. Cheers capt. 09 America 111,000 klm's done
Previous Bonnie (2004 T100) ran closer to 4000 rpm at 60 mph ( early model so may have had 17 tooth front sprocket fitted). Swapping for a 19 tooth one will reduce rpm by around 300 to 350 rpm and makes for more relaxed cruising. Current 865cc Bonnie SE runs 50 mph at 3000 rpm and 60 mph is about 3500 on the stock 18 tooth sprocket.
