A Ride On The Dark Side

Forgive me guys for I have sinned .......

I accidentally called off at a Harley-Davidson dealership and took a test ride of a 48 Special. This is a 1200cc bike with a teeny tiny tank and very low seat and center of gravity. It actually handles quite nicely even with its big chunky tyres. Ground clearance is good too. Engine sounds nice and it pulls well.
Compared to the Bonneville it’s quite agricultural but not unpleasantly so. I did like the forward controls and the seat wasn’t bad.
After the 30 minute test ride Mr Salesman told me what he’d give for the Triumph. 7500 Euros (ridiculous as I know I can get 11000 from my BMW Dealer). Then just as I was about to leave the salesman comes up to me and says we can give you 9500 Euros. I said I’d think about it.
So to trade for the Harley I’d have to give him 5000 Euros. I don’t think so. Maybe I should try the Speedmaster. But anyway I’m in no rush. The Bonnie felt super smooth on my ride home, she’s not a bad bike.
