The lovely wife and I came to Ocean City, Maryland to meet up with 60,000 of our best friends at the Bike Fest, but about 55,000 were 1) either afraid of a little water and cancelled out, or 2) due to their age, they just forgot to come. :sob: We're about 300 miles north of Hurricane Florence, but still getting pretty good tidal surges.

This is part of the asphalt parking lot where some of the bikes would have been parked. We were the first bike in. The police had just opened it up, because the water was starting to recede.

    Inlet_Parking_Lot_091318_Resize.jpg

This photo is of the tents that were set up for the bands like 38 Special that should be playing now. The bands were moved to the convention center, and even it looks like a ghost town. I think I've seen more police cars than motorcycles. :(

    Inlet_Music_Tents_091318_Resize.jpg

The 'upside' is that 1) there aren't any waiting lines at the restaurants or the usual attractions, and 2) we are getting some quality one-on-one time with the other people that did show up. :) You guys in the UK would think the weather is fantastic. ;) 28 degrees C, with 95% humidity. It's like riding through a cloud and getting soaking wet without ever seeing a raindrop.

Mmmm. This was not strictly today. In fact it was yesterday. I had my 500 mile service done on my 2017 speed triple R. So... up to 6000rpm there and higher back. I’m smiling

Not today but on Saturday I went for a 2 day trip to Lake Como. The surprise was when I passed Mandello, hometown of Moto Guzzi. There were lots, lots of beautiful Guzzis. The reason: open days at the factory due to Guzzi anniversary. The atmosphere was great and I had the chance to visit the factory museum, the production line, engine manufacturing... An unexpected surprise! I made 1000 km in 2 days in the Como region and in the Italian and Swiss alps. I can only recommend this area. Especially Italy since there are not many speed traps! My T120 was perfect for this trip! I will repeat

If the inlets and exhaust ports/tracts are any guidance I'd have to agree ! I saw how poorly they were made when I did big bore kit on my 09 America, i ported it and got much better throttle response in all rev range's.

@Dozers Dad as said before any snatchyness in the low down Revs you might have had will have improved and regarding the popping, can’t remember if you’ve changed the pipes, but knowing you you have, you might get that popping back when the bike is good and warm. When I had the sai in and my preds fitted it was like a full blown back fire, removed and it became a nice gentle pop

On my ownsome this weekend (Lady Poppy has gone to visit her dad) so intended to go out for breakfast. Overslept a bit so it ended up as brunch

Nice ride out once the fog had burned off.

Well, I'm still at the beach feeling sorry for the people in the southern states impacted by the hurricane. There still aren't many bikes here, but the numbers have increased some. The lovely wife and I decided to bar hop yesterday to enjoy a few drinks and local favorite foods. Unfortunately, we're doing more eating and drinking than we are riding.

Today, we went to a nearby National Park where they have wild horses and awesome campsites right next to the beach dunes. Owners from the mainland brought them to the barrier island to avoid fencing laws and taxes on livestock. Some of them escaped and have thrived on the island in spite of the sometimes harsh conditions. We will be camping here next month and doing some surf fishing. Man, this retired life is hard work.

We're going for a ride to meet some friends - and you guessed it - more food and drinks. The weather has turned awesome here.

Not today, yesterday. Took the new speed to France for the day with a group of triumphs and a token BMW.

Had a great blast down to Le touquet for lunch then up to st Omer followed by a stop at the operation dynamo memorial in dunkerque before home.

What a fantastic day good friends great roads and good food. The French roads make ours look like unmade tracks.

More from the beach. One lonely Triumph in a sea of Harleys. I did see a Bonnie on the way out of town tonight. I think we are the only two in town.

    Death_Cab_Parked_091518_Resampled.jpg

This is when you have to mortgage your home to buy a wheel for your bike. You should see the baggers trying to make turns. :joy: All you hear is the bags scrapping the asphalt and the riders screaming profanities.

    Bagger_091518_Resampled.jpg

I thought the Rocket had 'the mother' of all motors, but this guy needed a small-block V-8 motor.

    More Later :)

Fabulous, if I lived closer to Kent I’d do the same, so quick and easy (and cheap) to get across and enjoy some nice unclogged roads. Good on yer mate.

£30 return on the tunnel is a bargain and we are only 30 mins from it. One of the few perks of living here lol.

Next year we are travelling to Alicante on a 10 day trip with 4 days at a friends villa. The tunnel is only £80 so an absolute bargain!
