To travel internationally you need more than ID, you need something to establish your citizenship and prove your right to enter the destination country. A driver's license is not enough for that, so you'll need either a passport or ID-card.

Definitely need a passport. Some German hotels will ask for one when you check in. You’ll also need it for boarding the ferry to Europe.

Good ride down to Colmar today - sunny again and forecast is the same for the next week with a high of 27 degrees.
Took a detour off the N59 past Haut Koenigsbourg to St Ulrich on the wobbly wobbly white road!

Secure courtyard parking for Tiger and matching colour support vehicle.

The joys of old bikes. It wsa running fine. But the fuel gauge was out so i took the tank off to adjust the float. The fuel line has an in line filter that they dont have standard as a precaution. Theres no room for it so its easy for the line to kink. I might take it off and see what happens .

Wayne, don‘t make me worry! We desperately need someone over here who speaks fluent German!
(Even if it is Gealic :p)

About our trips: We can decide ad hoc over a glass of wine or beer when we all met up about the tour sequence on the following days...

You all have a safe journey to Germany!

    Cheers :yum

Here are some highlights for travelling Germany...

Speed limits (yeah, we also have them):

    Towns 50 Km/h, about 30 miles
Sometimes even 30, respectively 18 mph
Outside towns 100, about 60 miles
Autobahn (if not otherwise depicted): speed limited by Einstein...
(construction sites on the Autobahn often have 80 Km/h, respectively 50 mph)

Unfortunately, filtering is also illegal everywhere... :relieved:

When you enter one of our few roundabouts, you do not use your turn indicator. BUT when you exit you do.

We have no color-coded stripes on the side of the roads for parking. If you may not park, it is depicted by signs on the pedestrians walkway.

Unlike GB and USA, lots of roadcrossings in towns have no depicted right of way regulation.
In this case the vehicle coming from the right has right of way. If in doubt, discuss it by honking and shouting.

On the Motorway, it is NOT allowed, to pass on the right! (painful fines!)

    Emergency, call 112
    Police, call 110
Breakdown (ADAC) 0180 2 22 22 22 (or your own car-club‘s international number, if you have one)

Did I mention that you have to ride on the wrong side of the road :scream: ?

    Enjoy the ride!

@Havit youll find the blockage will be caused by a floating passport in your tank, yes the one you can’t find!!
