I bought my first motorcycle, 2017 triumph street cup yellow. I always loved the Bonneville, street-twin and the street-cup ever since it came out.... got mine and have put about 200 miles in it. I have been watching various videos on youtube for counter-steering, u-turns and so on.... mainly the channel "Fast Eddie's motorcycle fun", "MC rider", "Ryan F9" and I have watched almost all Street-cup reviews.
I have installed the black crash bars. Now, I am looking to install the lever protectors.
Please recommend any other accessories for this motorcycle for safety or bike protection.
    Thanks !!!!

Welcome to the forum, and great bike! Accessories are great fun, but I wouldn't rush into adding a bunch just yet. There are probably 20 different flavors of every item you will want to add to the bike. Research them and make sure you are getting good quality stuff.

The real safety items begin with you and what you're wearing. My brother lives in Marietta and I know how brutal the weather and traffic can be down there. If you're a new rider (even with that heat and humidity), I would encourage you to get (and use) a good 'air mesh' jacket with plenty of armor, gloves, good shoes or boots, and a modular or full face helmet. That goes for your pillion also. There's nothing worse than seeing a rider that is 'geared-up' carrying a pillion in shorts and flip flops. For most of us, it takes some time to become a really good and safe driver. You can't go wrong with good gear.

Also, I assume you had to take a motorcycle training program for your license endorsement. If not, you might consider a good quality training program.

    Good Luck!!

Welcome to a fellow Street Cup rider! I also have the yellow one. You can’t go wrong watching channels like MC Rider, but practicing and taking it easy at first is the way to go. Build those skills and good habits and you will be a safer rider. As others said, take your time and don’t go gear crazy on the bike! Learn first!

Thanks very much. I bought a Triumph Leather jacket which has excellent protection, a Shoei RF1200 helmet, a street and steel jeans, bilt boots which are not so good, just ordered a Dianese boots which was on sale.... has a alphiner gloves.. future plan: to get a Dianese gloves, pants and a mesh jacket.

First thing I did was geared my kids up. Their 18 & 16 and I don't want them to get harmed. (And really, I trust myself, but I don't trust those other idiots on the road). Enjoying each ride starts with good protection.

Awesome. Question: when driving at around 55mph and above, in a road (not on the streets), have you noticed the winds, side-winds slightly shake the bike.. there is some odd feeling initially for me whenever I ride on long roads.. and slowly I get used to it. I can imagine how much effect it would be riding at 70mph on highways. a bit concerned on that and I have to learn a lot. Yes, I have watched most/all of MCRider videos, I like the fast eddie's channel and he has the excellent videos on swerving, counter-steering, u-turns.. very clearly explained. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC0FFFneMi9GwRHUsuBjM0jA

btw., last weekend while riding my bike, at a Stop light, a person took a photo of my motorcycle from his SUV where he was with this family. looking at him, i was able to say, he loved the bike. I have got many compliments from strangers too.

Riding in a cross wind, or wind generated by a big truck passing by, can be a bit unnerving. Just be aware of it and adjust your speed if needed. One thing I do if I see a big rig coming my way on a two lane road is I move to the far side of my lane so as to get as little buffeting as possible as we pass. A little change but it helps. Just relax and ride smart and be patient, your skills are gained with practice.

The full face helmet and leather jacket upstairs, with shorts and flip flops below is a common sight in Hawaii.
