DC are you sure it was a 1952 Tiger Cub only I don’t think they appeared for sale until 1954 and they were 200cc also known as the T20.
The Tiger Cubs predecessor the Terrier 150cc came out in 1952.

I had a Tiger Cub on the road in 1966 when I was a 16 year old fresh faced yoof.
I’m sure those that have met me will testify that I still look like a 16 year old fresh faced yoof

 

Current issue of Classic Bike magazine has two Cubs for sale in the classified ads - one is a '62 model with a '67 engine fitted for sale at £2,750 in Edinburgh, whilst the other is a trials Cub for £3,250 in Merseyside. Probably not unreasonable prices.
A dealer has three 1966 ex-French army versions on offer at £5,000/£4,650 in the same issue. Expensive methinks, even allowing for rarity value - or am I being a bit hard on them? You decide!

Saw three French Army cubs up for grabs at Andy Tiernan’s place only last week. Serious money though...

 

Surely as French Army Models they should be cheaper as they would have been thrashed while retreating!

 

Nothing - because they couldn't use it on their bike. You can make a vehicle look older than it is, but not newer.

 

I rebuilt one that belonged to a girlfriend back in the 70s and they are definitely 200cc not 250cc, bit under powered, and very light probably worth 2 -3 K for a restored one.

 

I'll pay YOU money to keep them.
