She's lovely. 4 years of age now. Pigheaded, always hungry, love her to bits!
So obviously you're an animal lover. I see how you can get upset having to say goodby to your beloved mates - but others will need you. Been there. You can enjoy a next dog again, I'm sure of it.

You're not the first or only one to weep your eyes out at a Vets mate and you certainly won't be the last. There's absolutely no shame in it, all it does is to prove that you loved them.

Love her to bits - pigheaded as she might be... But that's bulldogs for you!

I do - and wouldn't have it any other way! The inherent stubbornness is just a great trait!

Feel for you. Not an easy decision, but I'm sure you'll do right for her when / if the time comes. Tell me I'm talking bullshit but my Molly (Rosie's predecessor) just looked me in the eye one day as if to say "let me go I've had enough"
It broke my heart (again) at the vets the next day.

Dont give up too easily Andy, I've been there twice this earlier year when we thought our Blue was giving in but she rallied both times over about 3 months, although the cancer did get her on the 3rd occasion but not until she was ready, then Rebel has come back 3 times at 13yrs in the last 6 months and shows no signs of floundering, in fact he's so happy its unbelievable!
She will tell you when the time comes, its inevitable, same as Rebel will and Blue did, they trust you do the best thing for them, as you know you will, but it might not be as soon as you think (hopefully!).
    Stay strong.
    Terry

It's a sad day for you Andy - but try to remember all the good times you had together.

And the fact that you didn't let her suffer at the end says how much she was loved.

    RIP Lucy.

So sorry to hear that you had to let Lucy go Andy, it is a devastating thing to have to do, I went through it with ours last year, you know that you made the right choice but still very hard.
