Rebuilt the rear brake caliper for the Daytona 1000 as was seized up and new sintered pads. discs and bearings on the wheels and then took them to get the tyres put back on but the old BT021's were looking a bit sad so splashed out on a new set of BT023's (and if the wife finds out she will kill me)
Will put everything back together tomorrow for TOMCC.

I think that this is the first time my Daytona has been called little

Finished on the bike at about 18:00 and rode the bike to the Surrey TOMCC in Ripley. For some reason the bike feels rather different to the T595.
I forgot how smooth the bike is and still think that has got one of the best transmissions I have ever ridden.
Think I need to have a look at the idle and pilot jets though as the bike is very rough at idle and cuts out sometimes.

Couple of photos I took of the Daytona when I finished today

The wheels cam out really well and they look brilliant

    Cheers

    Steve

Is the 1200 all sorted? ie has the bike been serviced, valve clearences, carbs cleaned ect. Also the Daytona is a very different beast than the Tiger, might be an idea to take time to get used to riding it.

I have been riding the T595 while I have been working on my Daytona 1000 and was surprised how long it took to get used to the bike again. There is a great deal more weight than modern bikes so it may take time to adjust so if you do use it today might be best to take it easy :upyeah:

Saying that they are great fun to ride and very comfortable bikes I'm sure you will have loads of fun with it

    Cheers

Put my sintered front pads in . They stop me so much better but there is a bit of vibration as I come to a halt. Think I will have to get used to it coz I prefer the braking power with them in.
Went for a blast to matlock bath, got there at half eleven and the place was already very busy. For once I was not the only old style Sprint there, there was a maroon one parked on the hill. Nice walk up and down the roadside parking, lots of nice bikes including a Barry Sheene rep suzuki with the tank signed, very nice. Fish n chips, can of pop, lots of nice girls to look at,then slow walk back to the bike and a good blast back home. Cobwebs blown away again.

Dave do the brakes squeak as well? as as sometimes some copper grease on the pins and the back of the brake pads may help to stop it a bit.

    Cheers

Been back to my garage, its about a mile away from home, and took the longer stemmed mirrors back off, believe they are Honda tho bought for the Triumph from Sprint Mfg. Put my old kawasaki KL600 mirrors back on,they are shorter stemmed but do not vibrate as much. Think they look cooler too. Cheers Kawa Phil for the donation.

Any chance there's a carbon seat cowl for a 2009 daytona?

Also been putting together a paddock stand today. Got some bobbins for an '09 daytona off eBay and don't fit. Apparently daytona shifted from M6 bolts to M8 half way through '09. I recieved M8 bolts. Guess which my bike is

Been working on the Sprint Sport tonight the front indicators were the wrong way as the drain hole was at the top so changed them over and took the farings off and cleaned them also fitted the top box to the bike so it is already for work / touring

Really happy with the bike for it's age and mileage it is in great condition, just need to get some of the engine covers cleaned up and resprayed and it will be looking very smart and for £1240 the bike is a bit of a bargin.

Front guard extender put on the Daytona (I even followed the instructions)

Got caught in the rain on the Sprint this morning so spent a bit of the afternoon cleaning it and it is starting to look okay also fitted the top box which is also pretty good considering it was £30 from Amazon delivered. :upyeah:

Did 300 miles on the Sprint today and went and looked at a few Daytona's and Speed Triples.

Was looking to buy the Super III, hopefully
