    Gents,
Has anyone played around with the Öhlins suspension yet? If so, what settings works best for you?

Do you find the original settings too stiff or just right?

    Thanks!

Haven't done any adjustment yet, the bike feels spot on for road use. For a track day I think it would need firming up. My fireblade I run firmer settings for track days but there are so meant bumps and rubbish roads the rs copes very well out of the box. I wouldn't soften it up personally.

I find it ok. I only weigh in at 10.10 so would expect to get thrown about if it was to harsh.

I'm 13 and a half and it's good but yes if you are lighter then it might feel a bit firm

I am 16 stone (all muscle honesto_O) and I had to increase pre-load on front and rear springs but quite a bit (5 full turns) to get the sag set up for me, then I just applied the Triumph sport settings as per the owners handbook.
Would imagine the bike comes set up for around 12 stone but that's me guessing.

I road one on the sport settings and it's very good just the roads are a bit rubbish near me so found it a bit firm I might need to adjust it when my lads on the back as obviously its adding about 6 stone on the back end!

I'm 13st and find it really hard. Much harder than my supple old 2012 fireblade.

I've backed off the rear compression damping as far as it will go, and 4 clicks off the front compression damping.

On smooth roads it's brilliant. On bumpy roads it can feel a bit much. On one occasion, powering down a slip road to join the M4 I had the back end kicking off bumps, and the TC warning light flickering.

I'm 73kgs (11.5 stone) and found the front forks to be OK as standard, but the rear too firm. I've backed off the rear unit, to the comfort settings in the owner's manual.
This seems to work for me.
I do seem to think that the suspension seems to have gotten more supple as I've put miles on.

The suspension from the factory is on the stiff side, I adjusted mine to the factory booklets "comfort setting" feels good.... going to have a set up properly once it's run in.

It’s pretty cheap and easy to get a softer spring put on the rear. I have had this done (as well as some work on the front) by MCT and the bike is transformed.

Any decent suspension place will do that.

I use MCT in Stowmarket. Darren there is great...

Hi all , just joined the forum , reading the above posts i find it strange that so many people of different weights are happy with the suspension .
I am 12 stone ( 76kg ) and found the suspension incredibly hard . Changing the base settings to the comfort settings made little difference with the bike jumping over bumps in the road ( not good mid corner ) .
I have had the bike setup professionally and the biggest surprise was that the front preload was INCREASED by several turns . The front previously felt like it was falling into corners but now turns beautifully .
    Cheers , Colin .
