I think it's bordering on to heavy for me, size wise it's ok. I've had allsorts over the years with the last being a bandit 12, I don't know if it's the fairing helping to cause the impression of weight. I'd thought about taking it off for the naked look and see if that helps.....if not I''ll try for something lighter

Have you seen a ST with the farings off?

You will put them back on, it does not look right.

I used to take mine off twice a year to thoroughly clean it and apply ACF50 and so seen it naked

I would change bikes, a Street tripple perhaps or a Bonnie?

The sprint is a very top heavy bike, even if you took the fairing off it is still pretty much the same, just look uglier. I changed the handlebars on mine to tubular renthals to give better leverage and that seemed to help in my case. Personally I think you would do better to sell it and get something more suitable for you

Gus all the T300's are top heavy mainly at low speed due to the spine frame and a lot of the weight on the bike is high up and quite a few of the bikes are being sold by owners who have had these bikes for a long time and are now finding them too heavy to push round. Might be worth having a look at the sprint RS as similar type of bike just a lot lighter. (although there aren't many about these days.)

    Cheers

If you have never had a go on a Street Triple then get a test ride. Small ish but light and nearly as powerful as a Bandit 12, they are mega fun to ride but to small for me.

Yeah, been there Gus, found I just knew bike had to go but kept hoping something might change. Don't worry when yer sit on a bike yer fancy, and having changed bikes the smile comes back :upyeah: It might help if yer start worrying about which bike, plenty help on here if yer fancy Triumph. There's a lot of people out there wished they had your problem, those who cannot ride anymore etc etc
I very reluctantly did this recently and am just back from Scotland on different bike. loved the ease and reduced weight of shovin't it round garage. Good luck :upyeah:

Cheers Steve....3000's to much, plus will need to sell mine first, don't like 675, a mate had this time last year, nice but to twitchy and revvy...reminded me of a modern day 4st Yam LC

I know what you mean, I phoned a mate tonight after emailing a photo, I said it was the heaviest bike I'd had apart from a VN15....I checked to weight between it (sprint) and a bandit 12 I had and ironically the bandit's heavier by about 26lbs. So obviously because it's top heavy

I do like it but I'll really need to see how it goes in the next few weeks

Don't know what part of the UK your in but that Sprint RS or something similar maybe the way forward for you Gus. I know there was a heck of a difference when I rode the Daytona 1000 and then changed to the T595 (it felt like a 400) the T500's do carry their weight a lot lower.

    Cheers

I am a big lad and I find it a handful at times, know where youre coming from. had a slow drop off a couple of years ago and it is a bit of a pain to get back upright on your own.also a small drop causes a lot of plastics damage.
the only way i would get rid of mine was if i could afford a 955 speedie and even then I have a large garage, lol

Sounds like it is time for you and the bike to part company in all fairness as if you are not happy on it then you won't be enjoying your riding and that's never a good thing.
Hope you get it sorted soon as it isn't fun riding a bike that you don't get on with.

I know I had the same experience with the T595 I just sold although I didn't feel scared of it. It just reminded me why had previously moved away from out and out sports bikes as I have too many old broken bones for that sort of carry on and enjoy riding a bit of a steadier pace now.
What we want from a bike changes as time goes on.

    Steve
